Report for Smurfing?

I mean let's be honest, if they want to admit to smurfing why can't we report them for it?

Hear me out. If you are trying to get out of series and you are say...bronze. And you constantly face people who are like ya I've got a Plat 4 or what not smurf, how are you going to get out of the elo you are in? I personally think it is sad that smurfs exist. I find it sad that you have to leave the elo you are struggling in to come to lower elos to tear up people who are still learning. Really. That's pathetic. And I know this will get downvoted alot because people don't always deal with smurfs as much as others. But honestly Riot, come on now. That's annoying to be in series and lose because someone is plat 4 smurf and has the proof to go with it. (Still got one game left in my promos to s5 when I started b5 this season but you get the point) It's even more annoying when you haven't said a word to them all game and they continually rub your face in the fact that they are beating you knowing full well they are tiers and tiers higher than you.

Honestly, if not a report button, then what? Because I can't be the only lower elo who is annoyed when they are both on my team and not. Why would I be annoyed if they are on my team? Because honestly what do I learn from them being there? They do things they would never do in their elo and get away with it because they have had more time in this game. If you ask advice they just shrug you off. I mean come on.

Suggestions if not reporting because I would love for the majority of games I have with smurfs to disappear all together. If someone knows a certain time where there are fewer smurfs, feel free to leave that in the comments.

Hey buddy, hate to break it to you, but smurfing isn't against any regulations that Riot has set out. How can you report or even ban them?

Chances are, you will be getting smurfs on YOUR team from time to time, which would likely to result in a win for you easily.

Sorry that you lost a game to smurf, but im sure some smurfs did help you to win a few along the line.

SECONDLY, if you are bronze, smurfs won't stay. For each wins, they gain 50LP just solely for their significant win rates. This means that smurf will ONLY stay low if they can't carry the game, in which case, it really shouldn't worry you.

Honestly, if you want to climb, wouldn't you want to face tougher competition? That's the point of climbing right? To face more skilled players?

So long as having multiple accounts is allowed by Riot smurfing will be an unreportable offense. Riot won't be giving out free accounts at your main accounts rank/level, and so making a new one will involve ranking/leveling it up. Perhaps something could be done to stop the smurfs who purposely lose promotions so they have a bronze account to mess around with, but that might be harder to implement than it sounds.

That said one of my best League memories came from leveling my smurf. My friends and I were leveling accounts, with mine at level 5, and we had a Brand against us in ARAM who wouldn't stop complaining about his team. In the post game we called him out on it, and he challenged one of us to a 1v1. I gladly accepted.

After badmouthing his team and acting as if he was above everyone else in that match I was able to force feed him his own words.

Well, mate, I want to play ranked with my local friends, but they are stuck on bronze-silver so I can't really do so in my normal account.

So, yeah. If it's any consolation I deliberatedly play recklessly in these million matches I need to play up in order to get to level 30.

Because there is no way to tell if someone is smurfing or if they are good... there is a pretty obvious way to tell if someone is trolling. You cant just report someone for being good.

There's nothing wrong with smurfing. I have like five accounts (not that any of them are high elo or anything, I just like coming up with creative names and I have several friends who started playing at different times and I don't want to play nothing but bot games with them on my main account so I just hop on a lowbie account and level up with them while teaching them basic things about the game and just having fun). Most smurfs aren't the asshats you describe, and as for the ones who are asshats, well, you can report them for being asshats. You don't have to have a report option for smurfs; if they're good they'll climb out of your elo quickly enough either way so don't worry about it. If they BM or troll or harass people, there are several report options for such behavior. You've probably played with a lot more smurfs than you think; it's just most of them don't make a big hub-bub about it because they have other reasons to level a smurf besides rubbing their skill in the faces of lowbies (such as making an account to play with friends on a different server, trying to get multiple accounts into high elos in order to test their own abilities via proving that getting a high elo on their main account wasn't a fluke, wanting an account where they can test new things without being harassed by higher elo people who don't want to let them explore such things or without having to spam bots/customs on their main account, because they thought of an awesome name and don't want to pay for a name change, etc, etc...).

Not so much being good.I can accept someone better. I'm saying people admitting to smurfing and in addition to that all the lack of humbleness even though they're beating the crap out of us like they probably should if they are a smurf, you see what I'm saying

I have a friend who smurfed, And was level 19 at the time. He Afked alot because his parents made him. He just made a new account and said Fuck it.

You could. It would just work the way the report for "unskilled player" works

You know, when you report someone for being unskilled, it doesn't work the way other reports do. You don't get to tribunal and can't be punished, but it affect your Elo to place you a bit lower, and makes you play againt player of your level.

Report for smurfing could work the same way : No sanction, but raise a bit the Elo so the smurfs get matched against stronger player faster.

That would help the already existing system (because riot as already stated that they have way of detecting smurfs, and putting them at their right level.)
