Can an old dog learn new tricks?

Hello everyone, this may be a sound stupid but I'm going to do my best to try and elaborate what i'm trying to say. Being a musician I often connect being good at league of legends to being good at playing an instrument. They both take lots of prior knowledge, PRACTICE, and I can apply a motto that a private tutor told me about playing trombone (and any other instrument) to league immensely "Constantly Improve." Now to my point, with an instrument a lot of new people tend to learn how to play incorrectly (some musicians understand this but people who cut a note of with your tongue instead of just stopping the air, and etc...) I can see this same concept applied to league, with things like champion counters, item build, warding, etc.... Now if someone learns an instrument incorrectly, It can take a long time to "relearn" correctly. I imagine this could be the same with league. I remember always missing skillshots cause my muscle memory was always aiming for where they were at the time instead of where they were going to be, also later tips like aiming for feet and such came along shortly after I got this down. I was wondering if anyone has had this same thoughts, and If anyone has a solution. Riot can always implement new ways to teach NEW players how to play, but is it possible to teach an old dog new tricks?

there's a way to create an ideal training environment and that's called sandbox mode

unfortunately, riot doesn't think it's important.
