So I hopped on a low level account to see the new player experience for myself
When I sign up for a new game I tend to make two account and one becomes my back up. Whenever I decide to try to level it up some more as it is currently level 11 and I can never make it through more then two games. I made it through two games tonight. The first game was the other team raging at each other in all chat saying to report each other. At least two of the players on the other team were clearly new and I couldn't help but feel bad for them. Being a new player and seeing a bunch of rage in chat must be really off putting. The second game was me and 4, maybe 3, new players against 5 smurfs and we got smashed. The other team took their time ending just to kill us on repeat. The only reason it ended when it did was cause super minions were taking our nexus. It can't be fun for new players trying to learn the game going against people who are clearly not new to the game. It must be like start a game you've never played before and jumping to the highest difficulty. I know there is "just play bots to level" argument but if you are forced to play bots because the players at your rank aren't actually new players that is wrong.
The worst part is that there is very little Riot can do to stop people from doing this as the game is free to play. I know some people smurf will the sole goal of leveling up a new account to 30. What if there was a skip right to level 30 option but to use it you have to link another account that is level 30 already to the new account with only one link being allowed per account. If an account is level 30 because it got linked it cannot be used to link another account to level 30. Would this tone down the amount of smurfs?
