How Riot can Reduce Disconnects in Ranked Queue

We have all experienced the unfortunate problems with players disconnecting in the middle of matches. Some even disconnect multiple times a match. This problem has existed for as long as I can remember. However Riot has been making changes to the ranked queues like; banning toxic players, making repeat afkers have longer queue times. All of this has been done in order to improve the rank queue experience, but has not eliminated one of its biggest problems.

Preventing unfortunate disconnects

I have spent a while trying to come up with ways to prevent other players from being affected by those who have bad Internet access. I have come up with an idea on how to do this. My idea will not eliminate players from disconnecting or leaving but hopefully it will significantly reduce their numbers. First off let’s start by examining a way players can prevent themselves from having a bad league experience or from ruining the experiences of others. You want to open up the internet browser you have installed on your computer whether it be; Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari. Now go to Google and type in the search-bar for “speedtest.net” and run the test every time you’re about to play a match to ensure that the internet connection you are using is stable. Now it is Riots turn to help prevent disconnects. They can implement a speed test directly into the LOL launcher that will test your connection every time you go into the ranked queues. If your connection is not stable or fast enough for competitive play they should not allow you to enter the ranked queues until your connection has stabilized or you purchase a faster connection from your internet provider. This might seem a little harsh and I understand that some of you would still like to play ranked, however just because you want to play ranked does not give you the right to ruin other peoples experience with the game, Disconnects may seem harmless but they can cause your team to lose the match and a LP lose for those on your team.
