Will (or did) Riot ever admit their system do this on purpose?

After a small win streak you don't get better opponents. You get people trolling, afk, raging. You expect things to improve on the level of the players but all what happens is the most impossible and absurd stuff. It's annoying to see this, all the time, win 4 or 5, get 4 or 5 team with people trolling even more than they usually do. What the heck is wrong with this. Would understand if the other team was simply doing better but this is not what happen most of time (and by most I mean a lot... really a lot..) this is happening way too much to see as pure coincidence... The Riot whiteknights appeared! Ya let's believe statistics are useless and they can't know most of the stuff you can do in a game. Just like Google won't use your data to give you the kind of ads based on what you do on the net.. oh wait...

In ranked, out of my past 20 matches, 4 have been losses. Not the best dataset, but I can still come to the conclusion: My teammates have been getting better. The enemy has also been getting better. In fact, I can't remember a single game where there was an obviously-worse-than-everyone player, troll, or afk.

Strange, I went on a massive winning streak a year or so ago, climbed from S2 to G3 in a single run of gameS(I think one loss in there). Afterwards, my games were pretty normal, I lost some, but it wasn't due to anything other than us getting outplayed.

But I'm curious as to how you think the matchmaking system, which doesn't know anything about you except your win rate, knows that someone is going to be a leaver, troll, etc to match them into your game?

If Riot knew what players would AFK, Troll, or Rage, enough that they could skew your matchmaking, they'd give these players punishments. What you suspect is happening with these players sounds completely contrary to what actually happens (see the people on the forums complaining about being falsely banned or having overly sensitive teammates).

they do what they have to do to put you at 50%. this is how I came to love losing and hate winning. if you win they are just going to screw you over later. if you go on a big winstreak you might as well make a new account. because they are going to make you pay for it. this is how matchmaking works.
