Riot, why not a champion contest?

Riot, have you ever thought of implementing contests to create champions (and/or items and skins)? And if no, why not?

I think this would be a very good idea that benefits both you and the community as well as improving the relationship between both. Imagine the euphoria a League of Legends player would feel to log in and see and play as character they created. That person would be so happy and it will motivate more people to draw or design as they will have the thought "Maybe one day I can design a character that makes it into my fav game".

I think it would be cool to have a contest like this, where you could have all the contestants understand that their ideas will be used by riot and you being able to modify any aspect of the champion. You could hold a contest with specific themes (eg create a champion incorporating the idea of a swarm). And even if you do not want to use fan made ideas in LoL you could give out RP gifts etc.

I understand that anyone can hold a contest like this but I think it would mean more to be recognized by you, Riot Game.
