about the honors system

I posted something about this in the old forums, but i'm not sure if anyone really uses them anymore, let alone responds in them.

in any case, a while back i clicked on the lick that appears after every game (if you get honored) so that one can learn more about the honor initiative (this was frankly due in large part to the fact that i'm sort of sick of having so much honors but no ribbon).

as i read that article, there was a bit about Riot's plan to take the honors initiative further by rewarding honorable players with RP and the like.

are such plans actually in the works or did Riot just say that?

They just said that unfortunately.. Oh well, I like the updates more than I would like a decent honors system.

Getting badges requires getting honors by a certain percentage of "unique" people who have a good standing.

But, yeah. I agree that making some further use of the honor system would be nice. I have around 550 "Teamwork" honors, but since around 450 of them are from ARAM and the likes, I don't have a badge.

Rule of Riot: Whenever riot says they're going to do something, they usually do it but it takes at least a year.

That's what it's been in the past.

This may be wrong but I believe that the honor system was put into place to get people to play Dominion and ARAM. I have a teamwork ribbon, and only about 200 honors in teamwork. However, I play mainly ranked but I try to at least play one other game mode/map a day, which is probably why I have a ribbon.

With the RP initiative, I bet Riot will eventually implement it, but it will probably come out with the fabled replay system, which could be several more years.

I have a green ribbon.... but still play with trolls and leavers and caustic jackasses.
