So, in the last patch inactivity decay was removed from gold because it's not a competitive tier. I was quite curious about this because it is inconsistent with the idea of getting a victorious skin as that shows you are more competitive/more skilled than most. Thoughts?
Akeydel2 votesPersonally, I think Gold is the level you can reach without playing actively, every single day. I have a few friends who casually play ranked, maybe once a week-ish who are in Gold, and they're not going to climb higher without dedicating more time. Could be wrong, but oh well.
Fisk1 votesThen should golds even get the victorious skin? If it's not competitive why give it the competitive rewards... I'm not meaning to ruin the party, I just think they should be more consistent with their policies. I don't really see a reason not to have elo decay in gold. If you are in gold, you generally play regularly enough to avoid it.
Sukishoo1 votesI think it's competitive to a point but not as competitive as Plat and beyond. Having the Victorious skin reward is just something to make people want to at least get there. Since they moved the Season ward skin into a new system of the Team Ranked Rewards, that already took away one reward for those in Silver and higher, so why would you want to cut down rewards on Gold? I don't think they really need to take away another.
Most of the community isn't even very competitive since it either falls into Unranked or Bronze, and Bronze has the Decay proof so that people don't fall back to nothing. So I don't really see why they should change the rewards more when they've just given a bit of help to Gold/Silver tiers.
