This made me feel shame
Today I had to afk at the start of a game because my college decided to have a fire drill.
And today I had decided to try Talon mid (since I never mid ever).
I come back fifteen or so minutes later and the sight I see is disgusting. The enemy team is taunting my team in all chat, and the moment I show up to help a friend the level 11 Zed immediately ulted me (I got out, no worries. Scary when you're level four though) and was spamming taunts an d laughs like his team.
Fortunately, I'm a support/jungle main. I know how to play when behind (kind of) without needing to snowball.
Suffice to say, our Elise hard-carried and the enemy team would not shut the hell up with their "ROFL" and "LOL" and "GET REKTED." I even snapped that we got it, we had an afk only to be told "STFU." Jesus.
Anyway, we won. Surprisingly, the enemy team was silent during this. No "gg," not even a word in post-game when they all left. Wonder where their attitude went. And no, my team didn't pay any lip service (except for that one time I pointed out that we got it). Seriously, I wonder why there weren't any more "LOL" or "GG EZ" post-game. Guess people don't like it when the underdogs win.
Jesus, people hate it when they have an afk but the moment the enemy team has one, it's shits and giggles and "trash talk."
Don't be that guy. The only good thing that comes out of it is occasional catharsis if the enemy manages to kick your ass despite the odds. Despite the victory, it was still a shitty experience. And yes, I muted all of them thank god. If you're going to be like that, at least try to have a good attitude when you lose. Banter, but don't flame. Even a meek "gg" suffices when you were an ass because the enemy team was disadvantaged due to unfortunate circumstances.
