Mastery - money income bug ?

I noticed it in a ranked game this morning and checked it in a custom game later today: when I'm supp, I gain 1 gold each time a minion ies next to me, whether it's killed by an ally or not.

However, the mastery says "Gain 1 gold for each nearby minions killed by allied champions".

Did I miss something or is it really a bug?
