Pls, I had a Zed build 2 essence reavers and somehow outdamaged our adc. NOTE: It was a ingato tournament and I think that zed was bronze.
I swear people drive me nuts with their builds sometimes.
6 flat CDR glyphs 3 scaling CDR glyphs comes out to 10% CDR by level 18. problem solved.

I like ER and will defend it in principle, but I would never build it on Riven. I know that AD champs are kind of screwed when it comes to CDR itemization, but if you can't benefit from both the CDR and the passive I wouldn't get it.
Life steal from blood thirster is a unique passive and the only other extremely high dmg item with lifesteal that isnt a unique passive is essence reaver. You can stack the lifesteal and cdr from essence reaver so it actually isnt that bad of a buy, especially considering how important cdr is for riven and the extra lifesteal is amazing with ravenous and bloodthirster.
Who knows. For all we know, that 10% CDR could make a HUGE difference at times. Also, doesn't Essence Reaver also grant Life Steal or something? If so, then there's another bonus to having the darn thing.
cdr is only as good as the champions base cooldowns. If they have moderate CD with decent damage its high value If they have high CD with low damage its low value. If they have high damage but high CD its value is very high
Someone like riven with 40% cdr is very good. you can get 40% from cdr glyphs (5%) then masteries (5%) thats 10% the rest is from items. you should have at least 30% as riven by 18

10 % cdr is a medium bonus. Also comes with 80 AD and 10% life steal.
