Working at riot

Hello fellow summoners, I have just started my junior year in high school. Ever since i was little I've always wanted to work in the video game industry. Seeing how League of Legends has been my favorite and only game I play for the past few years and made contact with multiple rioters asking them about their jobs, I think working at riot would be my dream job. I just wanted to ask a few questions and have them answered about it (preferably by a rito member :D ) I know some basic code and have a creative mind so I definitely think I can get into the game industry. So how would I go about going more in depth to start my career? What kind of hours is there? General salary range? And just kind of what its like to work in the community and be a part of the best game in the world. Id love to play a game or two with some rioters if possible. Well you're already on the right path! You should finish high school first, of course, and then think about going to college. Keep in mind a lot of Rioters don't have degrees, because we put a much higher value on YOU than on your education. That being said, education leads to a lot of amazing experiences that you might not be able to find anywhere else.

Whatever you do, make sure that you're doing something awesome, and something that you can demonstrate. Your hiring process will be much easier if you can easily show the ways you can add value to Riot. You can do that through a side project, or community involvement, or building a cool LoL website!

As far as salary and hours go, Riot pays very competitively. So whatever job field you choose, Riot will probably pay you higher than average. Unless you're in an hourly environment where you always need staffing (like NOC), you're generally allowed to choose your own hours. If you like being an early bird and gettin outta here early you can. If you like being a night owl, you can. Riot trusts you with your time!
