Unfair queue dodging penalties in ranked

A lot of my friends and myself are outraged at the penalties given for dodging a ranked match; those penalties being a time penalty as well as a loss of LP. (up to 30 minutes and 10LP loss)

It happens more than once that I meet people who are clearly griefing in ranked matches announcing that they are high or drunk, or refusing to pick any other champion or role resulting in having 2 junglers on our team or similar outcomes. Some players appear to make themselves multiple accounts so they can go grief people in ranked matches without receiving penalties on their original account. It is unfair that the punishment for dodging also includes loosing points while a time penalty would have been enough. It is not always the person dodging who should be punished as most of the time they weren't trying to be mean, they just wanted to avoid loosing 20-40 minutes on a match that was already lost.

I understand that the current system deters the players even more from dodging the ranked matches as losing LP and getting a time penalty is very severe. But we could all agree that normal matches only include the time penalty and that seems to be working very well. I also believe that the time spent on the game will be more enjoyable if the players are comfortable with the team they play with and not with players who are purposely trolling / insta-locking/ picking double junglers/ refusing to communicate with teammates ect.

League is supposed to be about team work and skills. It seems that removing LP when someone dodges a ranked match fails to meet that goal since it has nothing to do with your game performance. I suspect that if people are forced to play with teammates they don't like, it might increase toxicity and frustration among the community.

The solution I would like you to examine would be to apply time penalties to punish queue dodgers on lower ranks (bronze, silver, gold) and provisional matches, while the penalties on higher ranks would be to lose LP and receive time penalties. Since it would be more likely to meet players in lower ranks who would ruin the game, while in higher ranks, the odds of meeting a griefing player is lower.

this is a feedback that was sent to riot. I would just like to know if you guys agree or disagree with this and/or if you have other things to say about how the current system works.

the whole point of dodging is reduce the number of bad teams you get becuase when you are in loby there are certain picks certain personality that lose games more.

in my case i dodge when i see an udry or kass you know the kass that was nerfed..... and 9/10 udrys are trash at this level

Insert "It would be abused" argument here.

I think ranked should have a vote to kick option in champ select. If one or two people are trolling then you can vote to kick that person and one or two more people que in like team builder. Why should I get punished for dodging when clearly the person admitted he was a troll and going to feed? Makes 0 sense.

Seems like the only excuse people are coming up with is it can be abused.. it's being abused now... fix it.

For a while they had just a time penalty.

Ranked was unplayable because everyone dodged whenever champ select didn't go their way.

Sorry, been tried and just doesn't work. Too abusable.
