Why can't you have fun in games anymore

Why? If you don't play like you're playing for the grand prize, especially in normal, you get screamed at and are treated like hitler in a synagogue. Every time I play, I get paired with the bitchiest people in the community and god forbid you try to encourage them or you get threatened with reports or them feeding. I a curious as to the cause of this, is the game just designed to make you have everyone or is everyone who plays normal an assclown manchilid?

You want to have fun out of season? Create a smurf and have a blast, but if you want to play normals on a ranked account your playing with people who are preparing for season and take it serious. It's not just a place to practice new champs but to practice team communication and combos. If someone feeds an pb 5 kills before 10min then she can blow up anyone making it not practice but an Afk till 20 min.

I dont play ranked at all I have only played normal because all my friends who do play ranked vehemently warn me against it. They tell me that all of the problems I have with normal are even worse in ranked, so I stay away from it.

I don't really have much trouble in ranked with toxicity.

It happens, sure, but it's actually less than what I find in normals. If you think you're up to it I recommend trying it out in Season 5.

But remember; Ranked is where it is truly competitive. So treat it as such.

It's more the opposite, ranked is where people go try hard, meaning they usually try their best and in turn resulting usually in more competitive games. Now people will tell you there is an "ELO Hell", this is completely false becuase league is hell haha. No matter your rank you will get feeders, trolls, ragers, and afks but in rank it's less like to happen. You want gurantee chill time? Play the other three games modes, no one takes those serious.

Considering how most people who complain about this have no friends to Q with...the problem appears to be lurking both in and out.

When you 'play for fun' it is read as 'I'm not hear to respect you as a player.' If you want to play for fun, head over to Vs. Bots. It can be hilariously awful and still won't piss people off. Most people playing Normal Matches are perfecting their craft so that they can one die go into Ranked and dominate. Normal isn't a mode where one plays with toy cars in order to drive well. Normal is where we're getting better at driving.

Doubtful.

There is nothing wrong with playing for fun. Especially in normals. Everyone has a different reason for playing and those reasons should not restrict anyone to playing vs. bots.

This is a GAME, you know? It doesn't matter how competitive of a game it is.

Playing for fun is pretty much the goal of a game, is it not?

As far as "practicing for ranked in normals" goes, I am pretty sure that's what DRAFT is for. Not ALL of normal game modes. It's stupid to say otherwise, considering draft is quite literally ranked without the ladder.

Even then, there's nothing wrong with playing for fun in draft, either.

There is a clear line between a professional/full competitive ranked scenario and a normal play scenario.

You cross that line depending on what you queue for. If you can't understand that you're about as dense as a neuron star.

Hint: That means you're really dense.

Exactly this. I play because I find the game mechanics fun, which is why I play normal. I'll put effort into winning a match and do respect others, even if they are bitching constantly, but I won't act like every match is the final match in a tournament. I treat it exactly as what it is, a way to have fun and compete with other people.
