What's the deal with Illaoi?

Has anybody else noticed that Illaoi has been somewhat neglected recently? She got skipped over for her second skin (Jhin came out after her, but got a blood moon skin in 7.3 while she still only has her launch skin), hasn't been touched balance wise in forever (her last appearance in patch notes was a bug fix in Nov 2016, before that a change to tentacle visibility in Jul 2016) and has had no mention in any posts in the last months (as far as I've seen).

I love this champ, she's super fun to play and her character design fills an awesome niche, but Riot just hasn't been showing the Kraken Priestess any love and it just feels like she's been passed over for some of the more memorable new characters (Jhin mainly).

I get that she might not be the most popular choice for many players; she cant really go anywhere but top lane, she's very inconsistent in play snowballing like crazy or being completely useless.

Usually if a champ isn't getting skins it's because Riot is having trouble with them, and that worries me. Whether it be difficulty creating a visually engaging skin or finding good balance on her abilities i just wish Riot would acknowledge her with something. Because right now, it feels like shes on the list of champs to get a rework and I think that shouldn't be the case for such an awesome champion.

Riot please show the priestess of Nagakabourous some love in the future, even if its something small.
