RIOT GAMES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY OR DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU, AND WITH NO LIABILITY OF ANY KIND TO YOU.

Happens all the time so think before you spend money.

They can ban/suspend your account or modify it for..

1.For Any Reason 2.No Reason

So if you are getting suspensions etc and don't always know the reason, we'll there is a reason they are sending you cookie cutter emails & copy and pastes with no information other than you broke the TOS which could be for any reason or no reason.

Money making gimmick- If you aren't spending money on your account banning you might make you spend money to catch up to were you were at or if you did spend money on your main banning you will more than likely get you to make a new account & spend money to catch back up and get back the things you lost.

So everytime you spend money on this game your account is at risk for being suspended/terminated and they don't have to or normally tell you why rather you did anything or not.

Even if Riot messes up they are like the typical League player who will not accept their own responsibility and put it on you if you it's beyond your control.

1.Client crashes 2.Server Crashes

You will get the message it is your firewall even if you don't even have firewall enabled and never had this problem in your life with any other game.

Gj Riot way to lead by example.. tell your players to accept responsibility while ignoring your own.

...And how is that any different than any other online system where you pay money in exchange for digital goods? Is it just that you read the EULA and TOS on this one?

Remember, before you buy any games on Steam: Valve Corporation RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY OR DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU, AND WITH NO LIABILITY OF ANY KIND TO YOU.

(or something similar)

I honestly don't care. I would still spend $100 on this game.

This is pretty standard. Strictly speaking, you aren't paying for a product, but a service. As with all services, the provider maintains the right to adjust your account as they deem necessary. Your ISP, water/sewage, telephone, and power providers all have clauses like this one built into the acceptance terms of their services.

Mostly, they exist to protect the company from potential legal expenses incurred from perfectly legitimate terminations/suspensions.

Happens all the time so think before you spend money.

Pretty regularly, yeah, but only to a minority of the community. Honestly, widespread semi-random banning would be absolutely terrible for Riot. Their business model relies almost entirely on having a huge playerbase, and that kind of action would see people leaving in droves - not necessarily the banned players, but the ones who simply didn't want to deal with a company that would betray trust in that way (such as myself).

It's notable that "can" and "will" are very different things. That guy at McDonalds can throw boiling oil over you - but he's not likely to do so.

So if you are getting suspensions etc and don't always know the reason, we'll there is a reason they are sending you cookie cutter emails & copy and pastes with no information other than you broke the TOS which could be for any reason or no reason.

The loss of Reform Cards has been a distinct challenge for Riot. Fortunately, they're working on getting systems set up to automate the sending of logs - both in emails and in the client - to players who receive a restriction. I asked about how far out that might be, but didn't receive an answer.

Money making gimmick- If you aren't spending money on your account banning you might make you spend money to catch up to were you were at or if you did spend money on your main banning you will more than likely get you to make a new account & spend money to catch back up and get back the things you lost.

This argument has been silly for years. And it still is.

Even if Riot messes up they are like the typical League player who will not accept their own responsibility and put it on you if you it's beyond your control.

Loss Prevention (activated when they have on-going server-side issues) includes turning off Leaver-buster. As for their responsibility to make sure their client works with every single conceivable system and software set-up? They don't have one.

You will get the message it is your firewall even if you don't even have firewall enabled and never had this problem in your life with any other game.

I certainly agree that that message should be more forthcoming. I understand that the most common issue is - or was, perhaps - firewall blocking, but I think it would certainly be beneficial for the message to indicate other possibilities as well.

Judging by OP's whole attitude in this thread, I am willing to assume that he got a warning/ban in the game due to his toxicity and now is salty about it.

99.99% Online game reserves the right you're whinning for, hell even restaurants have a disclaimer that they reserve the right to give you food or tell you to get out.

Also, I went on your profile and looked at all the stuff discussions you have taken part in, and you're an asshole in literally everything you've taken part in. And you're a level 12. Raging at Riot because you're probably a smurf and your main account was probably banned for you being this way. You have nobody to blame but yourself.

EverTokki4/10/2015, 8:31:42 PM1 votes

I've spent money on League a lot of times. I'm on a LeaverBuster queue because of the Firewall error. Do I blame it on Riot? Yes. But am I salty enough to rage at them? No.

They can ban/suspend your account or modify it for..

1.For Any Reason 2.No Reason

Yes, it's Riot's decision to ban you or not. If you don't want to be in the nominees for bans, the thing and the only thing you have to do is 'play friendly, don't harm your team, play a fun game, win or lose, but still have a fun experience'. I know ranked isn't the best place to do so, but then you can always play normals, ARAM, etc.

So everytime you spend money on this game your account is at risk for being suspended/terminated and they don't have to or normally tell you why rather you did anything or not.

Plus, if you send in a ticket to Riot, they will kindly describe what you've done wrong. Or Lyte will.

To go back to what I was saying and basically this,

1.Client crashes 2.Server Crashes

I've told you I get them all the time, and I get LeaverBustered for it. Yes, Riot support hasn't helped any bit of my situation with me submitting 3+ tickets because of the issue. They've always told me that it is on my end(which I don't think probably is), but to match with Riot's perspectives I would rather not play the game for two weeks or so, so that no other players get harmed for my actions even if it isn't really my fault. It is true that I'm harming other players when I get disconnected. After two weeks or so, well, it eventually it gets better and sometimes worse, but if there's no particular solution to a problem, the best way is to cope with it. Riot ain't gonna listen to you qq'ing.

Just remember, Riot's not making us play League, we are playing Riot's 'League of Legends'.
