A Different LeaverBuster Punishment System

Hey, just to start, I'm not an angry twelve year old that got a 20 minute que time for "doing nothing wrong." I genuinely have an idea to improve this system.

I propose that LeaverBuster punishes players by the amount of time that they had been gone / afk. This could possibly improve the rate that leavers return to games, because at the moment, once you are gone for ~6 minutes, that game is already counted as left for you. I feel that the current mindset is "Well, I'm already going to be penalized for leaving, and we basically lost the game, so why should I come back?" With the proposed system, it would give early leavers an incentive to come back and finish games. Maybe some kind of "points" could be used to measure leaver intensity, and when say 50 points is reached, their penalty intensity level is increased.

When a player is gone for: 2 min < t < 5 min = +3 5 min < t < 10 min = +8 10 min < t < 20 min = 15 20 min < t < 30 min = +20 30 min < t = +28

Of course the numbers should be tweaked, but something along the lines of this.

TL;DR? Read it anyway, it's not that long.

Thanks for reading :]

Maybe in the cases of very short like <2min leaves that are semi early in the game there could be slightly reduced punishments or they just count less towards current punishments. It doesn't take long for a DC to completely destroy your chances of winning. Other than hoping someone just had to just reset their router or something I have never cared if someone comes back.

The only improvement I care about in regards to AFKs is a way for me to leave after someone is afk.
