I was wondering if Nocturne Is worth the buy. If he is not worth the buy, can you tell me which 4800 in your opinion is worth it. I am not interested in any ADC roll champions.

He's got a fun kit. He isn't one of the stronger junglers right now, but he's good enough.

Not rly.

He's too weak as an assassin, and if you build him offtank fighter than there are other champs that do it better.

I would not recommend you to buy Nocturne atm. He is indeed a fun champion to play with and against but he doesn't fit current meta at all. He is one of the riskiest picks at the moment. You can play Nocturne jungle if you are having a Tankiest of the tanks with CC in top lane, but even in that case, if you fall behind you are just a sitting duck screaming DARKNESSS every minute hoping that you will scare the shit out of someone. If you get ahead and build him full AD you will be able to kill certain mid laners or ADCs with a proper use of Shroud (W) but considering this is a hard CC Tank late game meta sooner or later you will just get annihilated in teamfights. If you get ahead and build him kind of bruiser like with item 3726 item 3153 item 3143 item 3102 item 3269 and item 3068 you won't be able to deal enough damage and also you won't be a real tank that can survive and peel for your carries, because lets say....his E is a single target fear with a shitty delay and your Q doesn't spedd up your allies which is really bad (Riot could do something about that)

All in all, Nocturne is fun to play, he is fine as he is as a champion but simply doesn;t fit current meta. If you get fed and focus on AS+AD build and if you can finish the game in mid game it's definitely worth, but if you cannot achieve that, better stick to something like Sejuani, Vi, Rek'Sai, Gragas, because they are doing EVERYTHING better than Nocturne :) Rek'Sai is kind of similar to Nocturne in terms of damage, but she has that aoe Knockup that can do wonders if placed well.

I don't think his kit is cohesive, and as a result everything from his builds to his playstyles are kind of weird, but he's a neat champ. I recommend at least trying him out.

Like any other champion, try him out free week to see if you like him. Right now he is a viable jungler with great great ganks.

i've had a lot of success playing him as a full AD assassin top lane His steroids and spellshield let him overwhelm most other top laners (the only one I've ever truly had issues with was Wukong) Then If you build him as you would Master Yi, his steroids and ult allow you to wipe people off the map. I usually go item 2041 +item 2004 +item 2003 ->item 3142 ->item 3111 ->item 3031 ->item 1053 ->item 3035 ->item 3072 ->item 3026 Or item 3046 if you are cocky With full armor pen marks and quints, standard seals and glyphs

However this build depends on you being good with his spellshield and then knowing the correct skill to block. Which can be kinda tricky but is super rewarding if you practice

And I disagree with other posts about his assassination ability suffering in this tank meta. The Tank meta emphasizes a strong frontline and immobile tank-busting ADCs like Kog and Jinx. Nocturne's ultimate allows him it literally skip over their frontline and there's nothing Nocturne likes more than immobile squishies. In addition, the tank meta phased out other assassins, kite mages, and disengage supports, all of which Nocturne is weak to.

Lastly taking him top gives him the constent gold he needs to function and frees the jungle slot for tanks

I'd advise him if you have the patience to learn to use him correctly.

Yes. Metas come and go. And you should NEVER buy a champion because of how 'strong' they are. You play a champions because you enjoy playing them, because you enjoy the unique things they bring. The moment you start playing only to win, you join the ranks of the ragers.

He's funny in that nobody remembers what his spells do, but ultimately he's basically just a protoRekSai who jungles like a MasterYi

If you enjoy playing him than the answer is yes, he is worth. That should be the only question people ask when getting champs.

UncensoredAngel4/19/2015, 5:36:57 AM1 votes

Hes a very strong assassin and dualist if you get some devourer stacks yes I would say get him

I personally enjoy playing him. Whenever I play him though I feel like an assassin but I build like a bruiser. Still is fun though, I would suggest buying him if you like Rek'Sai and Yi as mentioned above

the removal of vision is amazing in teamfights. especially if you have a janna/gragas/kalista, who tend to split up the tanks and the carries.

Whimsicalliope4/19/2015, 10:04:03 AM1 votes

Depends on your champ pool. If you're already confident with the jungler's you own, try him out. Otherwise, eeeeeeh. Nocturne's not bad, just less reliable.

Devack The Holy4/19/2015, 2:07:49 PM1 votes

Meta-wise, he was strong during Feral Flare's dominance, but he's mid-tier now.

Playstyle-wise, he's a very fun champ to play. I'd say get him.
