So I randomly received a two-week ban because of toxicity?

Here's the problem: I did the chat restriction games and after that I became so much less toxic.

But I recently played a match, then it said that the account got banned because of toxicity and harassment??

If you check my chat logs, most of my "toxicity and harassment" is from other people starting their harassment and me defending myself?

So I guess me defending myself is actually useless in this community and will get me banned, nice to know. As a matter of a fact, I had a game last night where people were being EXTREMELY racist towards everybody, and when I responded I got reported.

Maybe people should report those who are involved instead of just reporting one person.

And yes, I would like to see my chat logs.

There's a difference between defending and retaliating.

Defending against something is purely about protection. In this case, it's usually quite easy to do, using the mute button.

Retaliation is reactive aggression - rather than being about protecting against the enemy's attacks, it's about hitting them back.

So they are allowed to be 10x as toxic as me, but when I retaliate I am the bad guy?

And I don't believe that muting teammates in a team based game is a smart idea.

I actually had somebody mute me because I asked them to help a lane that was doing bad.

I also got a report because somebody was being racist and accusing my team of being such.

So I am not allowed to retaliate against people like that? I just let the reports flow in and take the 2 week nonsense ban?

Not going down without a fight.

It's not that binary. If they're being toxic, they are being toxic. If you are retaliating in a toxic manner, you are both being toxic. It's not a one-or-the-other situation.

Then don't. Personally, I don't like muting people either. My point, though, is that muting is a defensive action. Responding is a counter-aggressive action.

If you aren't responding, you won't get a ban. Reports don't automatically lead to bans. All they do is build cases to be reviewed. If a case is built (and that's far less likely to happen if you aren't retaliating at all), and you aren't offering toxicity of your own, the review will see that and pardon it.
