I don't like the new champion select, here's why.

It looks very pretty. Much better than before. However, I do have an issue with it, and this issue makes me dislike the thing as a whole. You're prompted to select one of 6 positions-- top, mid, adc, support, jungle, or fill.. And you MUST select one of these. This is an awful decision in my opinion. You've cut out any possibility of experimentation with new positions, any new ideas, any different ways to play the game. League is what I consider to be an open game, for lack of a better word. There are rules which must be followed, but in the end you're able to take what you're given and find different ways to utilize the game mechanics in order to achieve victory. But this position select nonsense has added new rules to this concept, making it much harder than before to try new things. I realize you can call a position and then decide to do something different if you wish, but with it having each player declare their position it will make it difficult for other players to accept any differentiation from what you have decided. It also passively suggests that the top/mid/duo bot/jungle format is the correct and only way you can successfully play the game. I dislike this. I usually do go with that format, because that is how most people do play the game, and I have fun doing so. I don't have a problem with it. But there was always the possibility to try something new, something no one else is doing. I honestly haven't really though about it too much, in case you're wondering what I wanted to try. But I liked having the option of doing it. And I would like other players to have the option to experiment with the game as they wish without having it hammered into their minds that they must select one of the standard positions. Keep the cool champ select, but allow players to discuss their roles in chat, like before. That would be my solution. Of course, I might be the only person who thinks like this, so.
