Shaco Assassin Rework

Shaco has always been one of my favorite champions, and I'm really interested to see how these new changes to his kit will change his playstyle. To be honest, I'm a little concerned that the changes are more of a nerf than a buff-- and Shaco's been nerfed enough as it is. Let's start with deceive.

I like that the Q's mana cost is reduced, but it's at the expense of duration, cooldown, and damage. The duration is workable, but the minuscule damage that now comes with it can't be worked with. I don't get why you would reduce BOTH damage and duration if you wanted to nerf it. I guess you have to build ap now to see any results from it.

W: The boxes were perfect as they were. Why get rid of the ability to stack boxes? There's no real reason to make them bounce, it's stupid. I guess being able to place while stealthed is a good change, but at the same time, it's coming at the expense of one of Shaco's greatest assets. I'd rather be revealed after a box placement than lose ap viability and easily cleared jungle camps. Also, I see little benefit in the increased duration of the boxes, it was fine as it was.

Now E. The damage nerf is ridiculous-- I think most players can agree that Shaco didn't need to be nerfed anymore. The missing health bonus is a good idea, but in most cases it would be better and deal more damage having the old ratios. The movement slow doesn't do enough to compensate for the missing damage. (This one's not terrible-- I just think the change is unnecessary.)

R. I love that you're working on ai changes. Other than that, the ultimate is stupid, I'm sorry. In most cases enemies will have plenty of time to react to the mini boxes-- they look cool with the "illuminati triangle" or whatever, but they're pointless. Also they die instantly in most cases. Pretty idea, but lame in execution.

With these things in mind.. the changes are a total nerf. Why nerf Shaco, a champion who was underpowered as it was? Yeah, he had a strong early game because of his Q. But that's it. He was fine as he was. If anything, only the clone AI needed to be redone. Aside from that, maybe damage BUFFS, not nerfs. I think with this you would make Shaco one of the weakest champions in the game. :c

Anyone else have thoughts on this? I'd like to see the changes reasoned out for me in comparison to the old stats and abilities.

They knocked Shaco down, and now that he's on the ground, they are kicking him to death.

Passive is weaker in any way you want to look at it.

Q unless quickly maxed is almost useless as an escape. The damage does not scale that well. It's basicly an AA with 80 extra damage on top of it.

W makes his jungle clear a bit weaker, although with buffs being a solo camp now he should be fine with his first clear.

E changes are completely and utterly ridiculous. It does less damage in any given situation. AP Shaco will deal less damage, AD Shaco will deal less damage, Tank Shaco will deal less damage. The only situation in which it will be useful it will be to kill low health targets, something Shaco never needed help with.

R is basicly the same thing, but with an added gimmick that was never requested and is not useful in 99% of the possible scenarios you may find yourself.

Overall, he was gutted hard.

They trying to kill shaco, or whatever's left of him.

The champion was already weak in comparison to most junglers and was only really ever viable in the hands of people who had mastered him.

They promised us a rework that would make him healthy and give him a late game, instead they took whatever damage he had and gave him nothing in return.

If this is what Riot calls a rework then I'd rather stick to what we currently have on the live servers til his ACTUAL REWORK.
