About rune pages.

I was wondering, a while ago (A few months maybe) I saw that rune pages were being sold two for the price of one, I don't however remember any sort of announcement and I know they (Riot) does this from time to time. Does anyone know when they actually seem to do this, like is there some sort of pattern?

EDIT Is there ever any sort of announcement when they do this or do you just have to periodically check the store?

No pattern, just whenever they decide. I don't think they do it more than 3-4 times a year.

They do announce them. No real pattern. Not a common then they do through the year.

Announcements are made weeks to months in advance. Check the news page more often.
