Trading Center for Unwanted skins idea

So some friends and myself were talking on Facebook in a League group. During the course of the thread, someone came up with the idea of a Trading Center for people to trade skins with other players. Here's the idea:

The Trade Center (or whatever it might be called) would work in two ways - trade skins with another player, or sell skins for Influence Points. For the player-to-player transactions, players could store their unwanted skins in a "bank" where they would set the minimum RP value of individual skins they'll accept (value set cannot be higher than the listed skin; this would prevent a player from listing a Legendary skin and and only accepting Ultimate skins, and allow for a fairer trade). The skin will be unavailable for use until (a) it gets traded or (b) the player cancels the listing. In order to obtain a skin from the listing, the "buyer" would have to offer enough skins to meet or SLIGHTLY exceed the RP value of the listed skin. As for selling skins for IP, those values would be determined by Riot.

This idea is a work in progress, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

LOL, good luck with that. Taking some money from Riot, and devaluing the concept of skins along with it.

Well even the trading of one 975rp skin to another 975rp would be fine. Riot would not be losing any money. I don't like the idea of selling, but i do like the trading concept. "Oh I really want DJ Sona, but I dont have any money... I do have spirit guard udyr and i dont play udyr anymore. Lets trade with someone" Riot wouldn't be losing any money since the money can't be taken back. If anything they would be making more money by people using the trading system as an easier way to get the skins they can't afford, while simultaneously getting rid of skins they already own.

i think Riot would want something to gain from there as well. i remember a mmo where you could convert different types of building materials into each other at a certain ratio, while being charged a small fee of $ (basically, that game's version of RP). I feel it would be fair if there was a small RP tax (much much smaller than the average cost of skins of course) to facilitate a trade.

as for the worth of the skin itself, that can be for the players to decide, since some skins can no longer be rated in RP (unavailable skins). i mean, i might decide to give away my judgement kayle for a crimson akali skin because i want to. i decided that it was worth it and if the other player agrees, we just pay the tax and trade.

I would so support this Idea

This can't exist with the mystery skin feature. No one would buy a skin at full price. They would just buy mystery skins and trade with others who also bought mystery skins.

IE. through mystery, I get Battlecast Cho. Random player found on forums gets Aether Wing Kalye. We trade skins. We spent under 1,000RP (I don't remember the actual amount for a mystery skin). Where the value was 3,700RP. That's a HORRIBLE idea from a business's standpoint.

Why would I ever buy a skin at full price when there is a fairly high chance that someone would be willing to trade what I need for what I want considering the playerbase size.

The only exception IMO would be for legacy skins. I think you should be able to trade Legacy skins somehow. That way the total number of Legacy skins remain the same (thus keeping the rarity factor to those who have it).

This is a very good idea, and would help to benefit a lot of players. Steam does this with varying levels of success, but it still works. I think Riot could also potentially gain from this.

It's a nice idea and all,but you gotta understand that this doesn't bring any money to RIOT.

Maybe both players trading skins should spend a certain amount of RP on it?They could do it on Christmas to cheer up the mood. :))

As a skin collector (I have 300 league of legends skins) I like this Idea but I don't think Riot would do this as it would make them loose money as they would want people to buy the skins when they come out instead of buying skins off people. x3

riot will probably delete this... this idea would cause them to lose money and that is a BIG NONO for rito

Another idea could be to do this with either only mystery skins or only skins for one champ that they have multiple skins for so that people could trade skins that they have but actually don't want
