explain to me, community, why you downvoted this????
I'd seriously like to know what's wrong with this linked post. Riot Socrates took good time to make riot's thought process visible.
in the first point, he says that a large majority of large premades are paired against large premades. this is great news!
in his second point, he says that riot believes matchmaking is overall more fair. maybe this is something to disagree with, but understanding riot's persepective is crucial here, so their telling us this info is GOOD
in his third point, he reports that player toxicity appears to be decreasing during champ select. this is huge! great news!
in the fourth point, he explains that they're responding to the accidental dodging during champ select by improving upon champ select. made me happy to read it!
fifth point's all about how they're aware of some issues with dynamic queue, and want to work on finding ways to improve them. very great! maybe it's not a report of results now, but I mean I guess we expect riot to have infinite time or something? like be realistic.... they've done so well with the time that HAS passed that while I am looking forward to more results, I really can't complain because of what HAS been ALREADY done to improve upon issues we're complaining about. I guess we want them to fix everything we're unhappy about overnight? who seriously believes that's possible by anyone ever?
the next point is more of this same stuff... they simply (and thankfully) report how there is an unfortunate outcome that they're working to improve. Great! I'm glad! why would I downvote them saying they're gonna try to find a solution to a problem????
the last point they're apologetic for encountering the moving target problem. do you know what a moving target problem is? it's when a company is working on various research and development, and unforeseen challenges arise that cause delays in their schedule. it's certainly unfortunate, but it's something that happens sometimes when you're a major company trying to create product and deliver it - things come up that delay this process. so while I'm unhappy THAT it's happened, I'm certainly not frustrated with riot for encountering encountered such a delay. I'm frustrated WITH them. because no one likes the moving target problem.
and while I definitely would feel compelled to voice my feelings that the solo queue re-implementation is more of a priority to me, there is ZERO reason why I would be dissatisfied that they've gracefully taken the time and effort to make their progress visible to me as a consumer. I would be HAPPY that they're sharing with me what's causing delays. and I would UPVOTE the post, in fact I DID upvote it, because I WANT riot to continue being visible in this way.
TLDR:
don't downvote because you don't like riot's posts. simply post you're frustration.
by downvoting the post, you are telling riot that you don't want them to bother letting us know what's going on. so please.
don't downvote!
in fact go back to that post and upvote it, to show riot that you're glad they're telling us what they're happy and unhappy about.
ps. also, seriously, they're saying they're delaying solo queue implementation because they don't like the state of matchmaking. which is a crucial part of solo queue. so they're saying they're delaying solo queue delivery, because they want to make sure that solo queue is deliverable healthfully. which is something that I strongly feel is important, and in fact am GLAD that they've isolated such a thing and are thinking about this kind of thing. I'm honestly GLAD they're delaying solo queue since it certainly seems to me that they're very aware of making sure it's delivered WELL and HEALTHFULLY.
