From someone who likes Yoricks overhall character, this is what I expect from his rework.
Hey everyone I'm Feerix, i started playing League at around pre-season 3 (Zeds Release), I love the lore and especially the Shadow Isles part of it all, my favourite Champion originates from that specific area:
.
is another such Champion I like that is deeply related to undead isles. Now that his rework as finally been officially teased by the image seen above, i believe this is the apropriate time to discuss it.
Now, i know Yoricks rework is 100% done at this point, this posts objective is not to demand anything but instead it will serve as some sort of comparison between my expectations and what we will really get when Yorick Mori is finally revealed to us once more.
There are several things i like about yorick, and those are as follows:
1- There is something that Riot always manages to nail to near perfection and that is the splash arts, for example here is Yoricks Splash Art as of right now 19 August 2016:
http://i.imgur.com/nRpGbRj.png?noredirect Now there is a lot of things i like about this splash art, from the way he is standing ON HIS OWN TOMBSTONE, and the way that this manages to strenghten his already tragic story (but we'll get to that later), to the way his whole body is positioned along with the ghouls to the way he just looks forward. In my opinion this splash art is downright amazing, it may not have the detail and quality similar to most recent splash arts but nonetheless, it is amazing. I am really looking forward to what his classic splash is going to look like, alongside with his skins splash arts.
2- In-game I always loved the way Yorick walked around the rift, it is unique and would be sad if that dissapeared i really hope it stays as it is, for me, a part of his whole character, a way in which he can be identified and dinstinguished.
3- His tragic story. Yoricks lore is great and is in my opinion the most tragic that is currently around in League of Legends. This next segment is part of his League Judgment that is no longer considered cannon but is nevertheless a great part of his character motivation and story:
_"By the time he'd dug the plot, Yorick's mind swam with somber anticipation. For reasons he couldn't fathom, this burial meant something. He simultaneously wished it could last forever and that he could be done with it already.
The latter felt more practical. He heaved the body unceremoniously into its plot, then clambered down to refold the arms and arrange it with some semblance of dignity. There was something eerily familiar about it. All the faces he'd buried - the countless faces - bled into each other by this point, why was this one different?
He climbed out of the hole and stared down at it one last time. He hadn't wondered about the life of one of his wards in centuries, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of unfulfilled purpose radiating from this one. Just as he was ready to pile the earth back atop the grave, he slipped. The shovel clattered into the hole.
Yorick hadn't lost grip of his shovel... ever. Panicked, he chased after it, but he slipped again. The soil he'd mounded next to the grave started to slide in on its own, an unprovoked avalanche. Yorick tried frantically to hold it back, but it flowed past him unhindered. He glanced down and it finally came to him.
The shovel rested neatly atop the body, clasped beneath its folded arms. The face - that face he should have known - was his own. It was the face of innocence, hope, sadness. It was a face so early on its journey, already convinced it had seen the end.
And Yorick didn't even recognize it."_
I hope his new lore adds more to that of the Shadow Isles, and its inhabitants, while managing to remain touching and tragic.
4- I honestly can't wait to see how his in-game model ends up, along with his skins, he has one of the most unique silhouetes in all of League of Legends due to his hunchback, which is also a part of his identity alongside his walk animation, thats one of the reasons why he is so dinstinctive from other champions. awesome by the way. That and if he is going to have a skins released alongside his rework because having no skin since launch (22 june 2011 i think) is really strange and if not when the rework is released, then some time after would be of no surprise to me as he needs a new skins but that is of no priority right now. By the way this is current model:

The priority here is that** I would like to go in game and be able to recognize him as Yorick Mori**.
5-
and
are listed as "friends", I hope it stays that way.
6- And lastly is something I absolutely love, in-game dialogue and champion interactions. I hope his VO strenghtens further his character. "You will remember Yorick Mori." should still be one of his quotes. Can't wait to hear what he has to say about champions like
,
,
,
,
and maybe even
? Maybe even add some info to a
character that we don't know a whole lot about, who knows?
Well, this is pretty much it. I'm really hyped for his rework but also, at the same time I'm quite scared of how it might turn up.
WE WILL REMEMBER YORICK MORI.
EDIT: Sooooo, this just surfaced: https://media.giphy.com/media/l0MYSyxBQ9GIWsLRK/giphy.gif I currently have mixed feelings about the look, he doesn't seem to have a hunchback, instead he is carrying something on his back and he has a cape made of fog? He reminds me a great deal about Taric, only hooded and buffed and with beard now. Overall it looks good but not great, maybe I just need to get used to the look. Traditional Yorick would be awesome (plz Rito). We'll see and draw conclusions when he is properly revealed.
EDIT 2: He does appear to have his hunch, in the promotional image his silhouette does give the idea that he has a hunch, only, in the gif it seems like he is standing straight, maybe he is doing that on purpose.
