Reports.....

do they do a good job in punishing people or not?

seems like everytime i find someone who afks mid game, trolls, rages etc.... the #1 line after someone says they are going to be reported for w/e it is they are doing, they always give the same answer.

"LOL gl with that, it wont do anything"

the sad part is, is this actually true? some of the obvious trolls/intentional feeders etc...the muck of the muck...i saved bookmarks in na.op.gg and everytime ive checked i see these people play games everyday even tho i literally watched them break the rules, reported them, and saw they did this in other game but yet they still continue to play and ruin other peoples games

So what do you think, are the reports getting the job done in punishing players? or is it the average LOL gl with that it wont do anything?

pole answers A=yes, when i report someone for breaking the rules i know that they will be punished for breaking the rules/ruining the game for others B=no, when i report someone, i get this feeling that they will be able to keep playing regardless if they broke the rules and ruined the game for others

(as for myself, i feel that if people got real/decent punishments that they would either change their ways and stop breaking the rules (w/e it may be) so they can keep playing..... or that they would either stop by choice or stop by the system not allowing them to continue playing for X amount of time....but then again i always compare this to murder, could you imagine what the world would be like if instead of life in jail for killing someone they got jailed for one day then released. I think it would be alot worse than what it is now as far as how many murders are happening....fear keeps people in their place, just like how you wouldnt jump off a bridge because it will kill you...if you take the kill you out i bet alot more people would be jumping off bridges)

If you're comparing someone trolling you in a video game to murder, I think you've got some real mental health problems.

Compare it to shoplifting. Do shoplifting penalties stop determined shoplifters? No. Does that mean the penalties are too light? Also no. There are some people who will keep doing it even through penalties, unless the penalties are absurdly harsh.... but then you're overpunishing people who may have just not realized what they were doing. There's a fine line, and crossing it hurts far more than it helps.
