I am appalled at how many people cannot distinguish between "your" and "you're".

"Your" is used to refer to something you possess: your clothes, your favorite champ, your food, your grammar.

"You're" is used as a contraction of "you are": you're a cool guy, you're feeding mid, you're full of crap, you're killing me.

Every time you type out "your" ask your self if you're really trying to say "you are". If the answer is yes, then the correct word in that instance is "you're". Please, for the sake of humanity, understand the distinction between these two. Otherwise, ~~your~~ just sounding ignorant to ~~you're~~ fellow players.

People that play this game just have horrible grammar. They also can't tell the difference between "There" , "Their" or "They're"

whether people know the distinction between the two or not is inconsequential. You play an online video game and some people are lazy and don't feel like adding the extra strokes and therefore everything comes out in short hand.. i mean why not just type out laughing out loud??

The main purpose of language is communication. The intended message of the poster comes across just fine and therefore, arguing about it is the really stupid thing, sorry if you are so delicate that you get offended by someones incorrect use of your. Actually wait no, i couldn't possibly care less about that. Hurr durr my brain is so big that i spend my time worrying about ridiculously unimportant things such as OMG YOU DIDNT PUT AN APOSTROPHE they're! There coming to get you for you are incorrect use of grammarses! Sorry but if you were truly intelligent, you would consider the message behind what they are saying rather than what words they choose to use to convey the message.

Allow me to illustrate my point. if a guy comes into your house and tells you "YOUR ALL GOING TO DIE IF YOU DONT LEAVE THE BUILDING IS COLLAPSING" only a moron would sit there and correct his grammar. Not to mention, when talking, all 3 words sound exactly the same and he could be using any one of them at any time. my point being if your house is on fire and someone warns you about it, the only person who would sit there and freak out about grammar is someone who probably shouldn't escape the fire to begin with. We are better off without people who can't get over things that don't matter and have no bearing on anything. sorry if you fall into this category but its just a waste of time and honestly, my time would be better spent jerking off rather than typing this message.

It's online gaming.. People type fast and don't think about. It's not like i'm in school and being graded or care about what people think about my grammar online.

Trust me, I'm sure there are plenty of grammar mistakes you have made, unless you are the type of person who proof reads everything you write in fear someone might call you out on it. Some of us just don't care online..

Its generally americans that misspell your and you're and also a and an, its pretty weird. (im dutch and never misspell these words and i didnt even pay attention in english classes.)

I'm not appaled at howmany people cannot distinguish between "der", "die" and "das" in german, as i understand that some things are not that easy if your foreign to a language. this boards aren't NA only, so there are alot people like me that have english as a foreign language, if you complain about grammar or spelling errors, chances are that you're just sounding ignorant towards any non native english speaker.

I really appriciate that you're not only complaining, but also explaining, so take an upvote for that.
