Types Of Support Players

As a support main, I've come to see that people who play support can easily be split up into 4 different groups, with each group preferring different types of summoner names and champions. Please be aware that this post is more for comedic purpose than anything else and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Group 1, The Girly Girl Gamers These are your classic girly girls that play videogames, only ever playing support and even then only playing the female support champions. Often they have summoner names that have cute words and shit in it like "The Crazy Girl" or "MuffinMafia63." They usually play Leona, Janna, Sona, and Soraka, and Lulu.

Group 2, The Bros Your very chill, laid back guy who's often the teams funniest member and usually an optimist even in the toughest of matches. Their summoner names range from being very average to referencing a meme of some sort. They're most often seen playing the tank supports such as Thresh, Braum, Blitzcrank, and rarely Leona or Soraka.

Group 3, The Effeminate Gay Guys While not being an exact stereotype, they come very close to pushing it and are often just one Beyoncé song away from becoming one. They'll usually have a very girly summoner name and sometimes names that reference literature, often a female character from said literature, and occasionally have "trix" at the end of their names. Above all else, they hate it when they're called out for how gay they are. They prefer playing strong female support champions such as Morgana, Zyra, Nami, Karma, and when forced to pick a male champion, Taric.

Group 4, The Emos More of a combination of The Effeminate Gay Guys and The Girly Girl Gamers, they're often just whiney teens that play support because they secretly love being a bitch. Their summoner names are almost always depressing and dark, just like them, and reference ancient mythology and other spiritual stuff. They're commonly seen playing Morgana, who's basically their goddess, Zyra, Soraka, Lulu, and on rare occasions, Thresh.

you forgot the professional victims, which is 90% of the support base, commonly seen making woe is me threads for upvotes on boards

I play Taric and fit in group 2, not group 3. Hence the IGN.

"you're so gay dude,if there was a gayness contest you would be disqualified because you're a pro" actually heard that once lol

Someones gotta keep a positive outlook on games from time to time. Especially when someone starts tilting hard, gotta make sure they have a good ass time and remember thats its just a game and you gotta have fun with it.

I don't have a cute name, and I don't solely play female support champions...

But Rakan is my new jam because he's a freaking cutie. <3

BUT fun fact. I knew a guy that could be described as emo/goth, and he only played LoL because of Morgana. lmao.

I play Alistair, Thresh and Nami as my three main supports. Does that put me in the 2 and 1/2 group? The players who are funny but sometimes say outlandish and provocative statements which make half the team laugh even harder and make the other half extremely uncomfortable. Because I frequently ask my yordle teammates if they know of any good midget-porn websites.

I think there's more than just 4 types. Here's what I came up with in 10 minutes:

The player who mains a different role. Plays support reluctantly. Is very quick to point out the mistakes of others, especially the player who "took" their main role. Makes these really flashly plays and complains when the team either chooses not to or is unable to follow them. Will never take the blame for their own mistakes, always pawning them off onto someone else. Will generally play flashy high mobility supports like Thresh, Nautilus, Leona, Alistair, and Braum.

Troll supports. These guys act in a way that is meant to handicap you or just to irritate you. They're usually spiteful and childish and who will do things to purposely get you killed. They will usually play something like Tahm Kench, Bard, Blitzcrank, Anivia, Trundle or some off-meta champion.

The baked out/drunk support. They just smoked good weed or downed this ultra hipster IPA and will constantly remind you that they are high/drunk and that they should not be accountable for their mistakes because they are high/drunk. They miss skill shots, they get caught out constantly, they tell everyone to chill "it's just a game" and are liable to quit the game when they get too much complaints about their game play or because they want to get more high/drunk and have something more important to do. You will see them play ultra passive/one-trick pony supports like Blitzcrank, Zilean, Bard, Lux, Sona or Soraka.

The try-hards. Every minute you will see them saying something in chat, both good and bad. They will have elaborate shot calls and will reference E-Sports as a counter argument for any plan that isn't theirs. They will rage when you cannot pull off complex maneuvers but will also fanboy anyone who meets or exceeds their expectations calling you "Senpai" and other creepy shit. They have a very wide champion roster but if it is some off-meta pick that did well in the LCS or a recent Esports game you can bet that that will be their go to pick even if its some weird shit like AP Irelia or full tank Anivia.

The smurf. "Give me X champion, I am Y rank and main X." Or they just post a link to their main account. Now they are your smurf support. They play really well and don't say much in chat partly because they are watching anime on the other monitor and also because English probably is not their main language. They intuitively know things in spite of making no communication with the team. The team is grouping mid? They will leave the ADC who wants to stay bot lane and head mid lane with the rest of the team while the ADC whines about how they got ganked by 3 people and nobody was around to help. They still buy a sight stone about half the time but usually its not their first buy. You will probably end up winning the game and as the game ends they will say in all-chat "GG EZ" the only words they said all game. Their champion pool is usually limited to what they felt they could afford at the time but what they do have they play exceptionally well, even off-meta stuff. But unlike the try-hards they use more conventional stuff like tank Shen support or full AP Brand support.

I'm 2 of course.

And I'm gay but dont meet the description of group 3 very well.

I'm rank 7 taric like all my supports but i don't really play him as much as the others.

I'm more of a Milkman Alistar Sona MissFortune <3

I don't believe I fit into any of these groups.

Soraka lands in 3/4 of the champion pools.

Does that make me complicated?
