I just finished my provisionals and well I ended up in B5 ;( someone comfort me. Even though i went 5/10.

if you are better than b5, you will get out if you keep playing. you might want to take a break though because of how many others who also went down to b5 (you might get lucky being matched with the good people, or lucky fighting them).
Where did you end last season? My first season (last season) I started Bronze IV, and ended in Silver V. I won six out of ten provisionals, and got booted to Bronze IV, which I've heard just about everyone got knocked down about four to five ladders despite their good or bad scores except on rare occasion (only friends of friends so far on the latter). So... know you're not alone ): Also, puppies are adorable.
I went from S2 to b1 and i went 7/10 with one of those games being to to an afk that was reported (I personally think this should have been a redo) Point is your supposed to go down in rank. If your mmr is still high enough though you will gain points fast. I remember the first time I climbed through b1 i was getting like 5 points a game and losing 10. This go around im getting 25-30.... not sure what im losing yet :P Point is if your meant to be higher you will get back up there quickly. Its a major pain, but hopefully when you are back up there it will have weeded out most of those who dont deserve to be there.

I went 7/10 on Provisionals, got stomped into B5 as well. A little disheartening, but as the silvers and occasionally golds climb out on their own, it'll be easier to set your own pace. Lately I've had to fight against way too many silver/occasionally a gold teams. Now that a lot of them are getting ahead of me, I'm winning many games and am almost b3.
Everyone fell down a huge amount, because of the 'soft reset'. It's not just you.
I'm almost curious where I'd end up, but not curious enough to play again to find out...
but if you belong higher, you WILL rise. The system works to put you where you belong, not to keep you down. So if you're better than that, just keep playing and you'll rise. And if you're not, then focus on improving your game rather than just on winning, and you'll see it start to happen over time.

5/10 is god awful buddy./ you MMR was probably shit before then. I went 5/10 on soft reset and still landed in plat 1 (highest possible placement) because i was 2.5kmmr last season in diamond 1.
your previous MMR plays a huge part of where you'll be after placements next season. Don't let some moron tell you different. Its EXSTREMELY important to have above 2k mmr by the end of the season every season so that your soft reset puts you in the plat bracket to get back to diamond fast. even if you're only plat you can still get above 2k mmr easy. but imo being diamond with 2k mmr has an effect on it too. I have noticed I can be diamond and drop 5 placements and still get high plat but if i'm plat and lose some provisions it sticks me in high gold or low plat instead of high plat.
ezpz, man. you dont belong there, you'll be out in no time. I went 3/7 and placed in Bronze 5. I already promoted to Bronze 4 and will keep on climbing. I know i don't belong in Bronze. I wont be there for too long!

There are things bronze and silver players can't properly deal with, figure those out and you'll easily climb. I apply about 3 or 4 of those things and my KDA atm is 2.5 / 1.3 / 15.2 on ranked, 5/6 matches won. You can do it too if you pay attention to their common mistakes and what they poorly deal with.
If you play support get a sightstone and a pink ward. If you aren't support get a pink ward and place it in a bush and get some stealth wards all throughout the game and use them if your pink gets destroyed get another one. Also if you can't see the enemy on the map don't chase that squishy adc that's nearly dead who is running away, chances are you are running into a trap. I hate when I'm top lane look at the map and the area between top and mid are lit up like a christmas tree from me but there aren't any other wards, then I look at the map and the support doesn't even have a sightstone, then they ignore you when you ask them politely to buy one.
