PETITION TO KEEP ITEM SETS

Demonsolder21·10/18/2016, 9:59:58 PM·1,277 votes·80,257 views

Please riot dont remove them.

edit: Thanks for the support thus far guys. Hopefully riot realizes that people do actually use the darn feature.

edit 2: Here is a really good thread on this subject. That explains why item sets are worth keeping.

Seriously?

Riot, the reason why so few people didn't use item sets wasn't because item sets weren't useful.

People didn't use them because they got deleted every other goddamn patch for so long.

In the new client, this issue should be fixed.

And even if most players don't use it, that doesn't mean it has no value; it means people are lazy.

For them, they don't give a damn.

But think about people like me, Riot.

I have the memory of a fucking housefly. I get into champion select and forget what champions I know how to play besides Bard Heimerdinger Sona . I NEED my item sets. Without them, I have trouble figuring out the best buy, since I forget what items exist whenever I am actively trying to figure out what to buy.

im definitely using them, and with the increased number of items in the game (which is a good thing), i feel like its needed.

have my upvote.

I need this feature and I'm prepared to post in as many threads, write as many emails, and pretty much whatever else it takes to get it kept. Or get the new client dropped altogether. Either works for me, because I don't need the new client features, and I do need item sets!

Yes, Riot, your entire new client is worth less to me than this feature you're intending to drop. The whole thing. All of it. I'd rather have item sets. I'd rather see you support the old client indefinitely if the new one will not have item sets. It's that important. So please, whatever you do, make it involve supporting item sets at at least the same level they are now in the old client. More item set features would actually be more welcome than replays or even the sandbox.

I honestly never got HOW people don't use them. Like you expect me to remember the build path for every champion??

Will the open beta be missing any features from the legacy client? Just a couple at the start. It'll take us a few patches to re-integrate spectate (for your friends and custom games) and the ability to join publicly hosted games using custom games. We're currently not planning to bring over the item set creator feature from the legacy client. Basically only an incredibly tiny percentage of players ever used the feature, and we've heard from many players that y'all don't care whether we bring item sets over so long as we continue to support 3rd party item set customization tools like Championify—and we will!

RIP my 30+ item sets. Thanks Riot for removing a perfectly good feature. What, now you're turning into YouTube? Removing shit that works perfectly fine.

The proper way to do this would be to encourage players to create and use custom item sets. That is the only way to show Riot that we want them. As it stands it's just a fact that almost nobody bothers (which is why it's a zero priority feature), so we have to change that.

Hey guys, just want to confirm that we’ve seen the boards post and other threads and we’re having more conversations about this internally. We’ll have a more detailed update soon after we talk it out more.

In the meantime, just know that we’re not deleting the item sets you make using the legacy client—they’ll still work no matter which client you use to get into game. And no matter what our internal conversations come to, there’s still no way that we’ll reprioritize a built-in item set creator above other features (like spectate) to develop before the end of the client update open beta.

We'll probably come back next week with a dev corner post that shares what we've come to.

UPDATE: I also just made an item set for the first time to test this and... damn it is kind of useful. lmfao

Signed. I'm a terrible player when it comes to mechanics. My only saving grace is that I do research before, create multiple sets for multiple situations, and compensate for my lack of skill accordingly. But I also have a bad memory, and I don't play champs outside my mains very often. I would like to keep the sets, since I use them in order to refresh my memory and reduce my time spent in the store.

Riot is doing what. I didn't hear anything about this.

PLEASE BRING ITEM SET TO THE NEW CLIENT!!!

I play several champs and the item sets helps me make builds for them according to the matchup on the fly. They help me be more organized so i can find what i need faster than looking them up via search and sometimes I cant remember the names of some items. The item sets help me to experiment to my hearts content without having to make multiple wordpad documents for them and I wont have to alt tab just to be able to view them. They also make champs with multiple roles easier to manage with a different page for each role.

WHY IS THERE A SMALL PERCANTAGE OF PLAYERS USING THIS GREAT TOOL? IT SHOULD AT LEAST BE OVER 50%.

Chembaron Yamada10/19/2016, 3:22:39 AM11 votes

Made item sets for all my champions. If that feature gets removed, I will take alot more time buying the items I need. And it can even **** up my build, since I am not able to keep in mind every single situational item. If I see the icon in my set, I know I am in need of that specific item.

It will hurt my game experience alot if you remove the sets. Don't do it, I beg you.

Signed, in the style of John Hancock that means I mean business, and am willing to sacrifice any other feature in League in order to have this.

Wrongwayscout10/19/2016, 4:04:34 AM6 votes

Please Riot, i need item sets. i've only been playing for a month and a half but i've made nearly 30 of them and without them i would have no idea what to buy or i'd at least need to spend 20 - 30 seconds in shop thinking about what to get.

I use them exclusively for everything.

Removing them is going in the wrong direction

I'm in that 1% minority that use item sets and I love them. Keep item sets please and thank you.

I hate recommended items. Item sets also help me remember to upgrade from yellow to blue trinket.

Fail Ezreal10/19/2016, 8:03:39 PM4 votes

Plz don't remove that will be so bullshit..

Fashion Mage10/19/2016, 8:56:43 PM4 votes

Holy fuck, please no. Items sets are awesome.

Just gonna post here out of my duty as a LoL citizen.

I want my item sets.

DeathBurst10/19/2016, 3:17:00 PM2 votes

Re: your Edit: Riot realizes that some people use the feature. Namely, ~1% of the people. I complained enough about SoloQQ'ers to NOT be doing the same thing now that I am in the vocal minority myself.

So yes, I use the feature, and I'd appreciate if we could keep it, but please let's not lie and exaggerate and pretend we're the majority.

Jesus is Savior10/19/2016, 1:16:32 AM1 votes

They aren't removing item sets. They are just removing the tool that creates them.

You can still edit your existing item sets using a text editor.
