HotS is pretty fun

so, i just started playing heroes of the storm. it's a lot of fun!

but it got me thinking... why is riot so afraid of putting stranger characters into the game? i get that it's a lot of work to balance something that's different from the rest of the game. bard, for example, probably took a lot of tuning to make fit into the game well. but league is starting to feel really homogenized. i wish there was more interesting stuff going on in a game-to-game basis.

heroes of the storm, for example, has a character that's pretty weak, but you can change his respawn location, he's worth 1/4 the value of a regular kill, and his respawn time is locked at 5 seconds. that's interesting! that's cool! there's also another character that's actually two characters! he's controlled by two people and counts as two heroes, with one player controlling movement and physical attacks and the other having spells they can cast. he takes some serious teamwork, but he's awesome!

why can't we have cool stuff like that here in league? i know it's hard, but it's stuff like that that would keep me coming back to this game. as it is, it feels like a chore to get my daily first win. i don't know how much longer i can play this game without hating it.
