RIP Satoru Iwata. I never could play as many Nintendo games as I wanted too, but what I did will always be a fond memory.

Satoru always focused on making great games, I grew up with a nintendo (and fought with siblings over who's turn it was to play) Satoru was all about the games, they said he didnt want to just jump on every little bandwagon that came across. I am Hopefull they find someone likeminded as him to run the company in his place I worry that now that he is gone, his replacement will shift the company focus -away- from making great games, and more focus on just making the shareholders obscenely, disgustingly rich.
Satoru Iwata chose Games/Story over profit I worry his replacement will choose Profit over Games/story.
May he rest in peace untill he is ready to come back in another life. And if he does return, may he retain that desire to make great games with him upon beginning his next life.

I found out about this earlier today on Twitter. He will be missed dearly. May his soul rest in peace.
This is the guy that instead of laying off his employees, cut his salary in half and took responsibility for the wifi u's failure. On top of this he spent so much of his life making games that were creative and fun, and continued to work despite having cancer
Last thing we heard from him was him apologizing for the E3 presentation not being up to par... He said he was sorry that we didn't like most of what they showed off And that Nintendo would seek to better please us all in the near future.

First time I heard this news thanks to Avantel from North America. Satoru Iwata ...... Your games made me , made me a better childhood . I WISH YOU NEVER HAD TO DIE !!!!!!! And could any1 tell me how he died?
All he wanted was for us to understand.
In all sincerity though, he was one of my heroes. I know I may not climb to his summit and uphold a legacy such as he, but I still strive to be as great and selfless as he was.
He made amazing contributions to this world, and I loved him dearly. We Nintendo and Non-Nintendo fans alike rued the day that this would come, yet...Here it stands before us.
May you continue making great games and striving for peoples happiness in the stars, Mr. Satoru Iwata.

omg... He helped make the first games I ever played... games that helped me get through my school years and even kept me from making some huge mistakes in my life. rest in peace Mr. Iwata. You will be missed.

I wonder, did he play League at all? I wonder what his opinion of Riot was if he did play. In any case, RIP Mr. Iwata. Nintendo has always done right by me and the games I played growing up are unforgettable. What I find really upsetting about all this is he died with fans telling him his E3 panel failed and they even started a petition to shut down production of a game he was working on.
we've lost a lot cool people lately, including Joan Rivers and Robin Williams. Hope they all rest in peace and can go have some good times and jokes if they can continue to watch the world.

As he moves on I hope the games he developed are still loved, just as he should be loved even though he is no longer with us. Nothing can express that sadness in me that has come with the passing of the producer of my childhood.

my Nintendo 64 was almost all of my entertainment up until 2009 or so. I spent countless hours on Zelda, super smash bros, Mario 64, and dankey kang. I told my parents that I have dibs on it when they die. that thing will always be awesome in my mind - it had some of the best games I ever played.
edit: I'm shocked that there aren't any rioter comments on here yet. I'd think it would be blowing up with them.
He was a visionary. Regardless of whether I agree with his approach lately, I can't deny his vision.
