Thank you to Riot Socrates. It must be tough sticking your neck out. [Sort-of thank you letter]

With the exception to the summoner's code regarding Tyler1 being all the rage recently (literally), i felt the need to point out something very few might think of.

Riot Socrates is simply representing the behavioural team (at least the one working with the North American shard of League of Legends).

He had to stick his neck out to inform the community of Riot's decision. Thus he also became the hate target of the majority of Tyler1 fans browsing the boards, looking for an outlet for their frustration.

It must be tough facing so much hate from so incredibly many people. I realize its your job, but that doesnt mean it should be like this. Heck, since its his job it should be the exact opposite - the man is doing this for a living day in and day out (perhaps even working with one of his great passions?) and these situations must make the work a lot tougher than it need be.

I'm confident you're slowly but surely improving the playerbase, even if it's little by little! I hope this situation will quickly abate, and that it doesnt affect you personally too much.

Thank you for your great work trying to make the game and the community a safer and friendlier place for all of us. Sticking out in the sea of board posts is hard, but on the off-chance someone that knows you comes across this, i hope they point out that there are a lot of us very grateful for what you and your companions do for us.

Keep it up! With ALL my respect, Aldduren - huge fan of your work, with a burning passion for improving player behaviour.

And to think that Socrates´ post got 3.2k downvotes . The fanboys raided and downvoated to oblivion but I am stil with Socrates and with Riot on this. I upvoted that post and I upvoted yours.

It was crazy how many butthurt fans support that raging little child. I'm so happy with riots decision, they made the right choice. I wanted to post on that thread but I probably would have gotten downvoted to hell. Anyways good job riot!

Fuck these Tyler1 nerds. The guy was a toxic over sensitive douche building his fame on other's misery. He can suck a big one.

If they wanted to stop toxicity they would ban the trolls, feeders, and afkers.

I find it funny that the Riot post has over 3k downvotes, whereas just about every post AGREEING with the Riot post has several UPvotes.

Tyler1 fanboys literally came onto the boards to downvote that one post and then just vanished. Not sure if they're lazy or what, but I expected them to stick around to troll other posts too. [zombie-brand-clap]

I'm just waiting to see if he can get to 3.8k downvotes which would be more than there are upvotes on the most up-voted thread on the boards.[slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

It needed to be done and someone had to do it.

I could easily handle the hate. Riot, make me announcer of anything and everything that would upset a majority of people.

why would they care about internet comments when they know they are doing the right thing?

your logic is trash.

(btw riot you can't delete this post for verbal abuse. remember double lift calling other players trash in LCS interviews?)

so let me repeat this one more time. Your logic is so trash. cause your a trashy guy.

No offense to Socrates, but this is his job and it is Riot's fault for letting it get to this point. I'm not too familiar with the situation and didn't even know of the person until this incident but from just reading on the boards the person was incredibly toxic... so incredibly toxic that he had 19 chances and still kept going. Supposedly he reformed so he wasn't as bad but was toxic enough to still get banned... Geez.

It is Riot's fault for playing favoritism and allowing a player so extraordinarily toxic to keep having chances just because he was high rank. Normal players would NEVER EVER EVER be allowed what he was. That is disgusting that our own system and Riot's behavioral team are so screwed up that this is the result. It also says a ton about how much we can trust Riot, Lyte, and the others with handling player behavior and who they are really looking out for (then again a lot of stuff has shown this problem, this is just the smashing your face in with undeniable proof incident).

I'm not confident that they are slowly improving anything because Lyte, himself, is an extremely toxic and hypocritical individual. They refuse to implement basic systems to prevent toxicity such as champ select/post game chat logs, misuse of machine learning, blind pick/chat delay, and it took forever to get the queue to vote for your role (years) when it should have been implemented in S1/S2... and I am barely even touching on the problems here. The favortism issue isn't even new, as it has happened in the past several times. I wish I could say I found this incident disturbing, but it has been disturbing long before this.
