If people didnt complain about EVERY change before getting used to it...

Riot would probably listen more. Its like the boy who cried wolf, with every change the boards explode and then a month later everyones cool with the change. Maybe if people actually gave things a chance rather than complaining the DAY it hits live, our ACTUAL complaints would be more valid.

I don't understand... isn't it my job as a human to reject change and grumble about it? And then when I accept the change to grumble if they change the change back to what it was before the change, because I liked the change after I got used to the change? I'm dizzy....

Pretty much.

No, it's a know fact the average member of the league community would rather spend a week crying to riot than spend 2 hours trying to adapt

Vistha Kai1/15/2016, 5:23:13 PM11 votes

Riot Games: Nah, we should ignore every single complain instead.

You honestly need to be mentally disabled to think that putting 2+ people premades into SOLO ranked queue is a good idea.

There are changes that need not to be tested to understand they are bad.

Dynamic Queue is one of them.

This man...defending Riot. How could someone do such a thing!?!?!?!? Just kidding, I hate reading all the complaining threads when league changes something. It is funny seeing how the two top threads will be an argument for and against the change.

as humans, we hate change, so sadly it will keep happening [zombie-brand-facepalm]

speaking as a casual player. i tried the new system and i think it will work great for blind/draft game modes. but when i played my games with the new system i got bombarded by toxic players. in team builder i just got to have fun as a casual player. i dont have the time to learn everything about all the characters/items/etc. team builder for a casual player was great. i got to play the exact role with my team mates not harassing me. im not saying i hate the new system for character selection for blind and draft but i just dont get why team builder didnt get to stay as well.

at the end of the day i know what i say means nothing and the world will keep on turning. but league of leagues is a video game. video games are made so people can have fun. i know fun is a more subjected subject, but not everyone thinks a super competitive game of blind/ranked is fun. dont get me wrong ill still keep trying the new system. but as a casual player who plays a game or two after working on projects all day and doesn't want to deal with the competitive scene, this new system with no team builder doesn't appeal to the casual player base.

Maybe people explode in hopes it will get reverted.

After about a month or so they give up.

I STILL hate wind wall and think it's a ridiculous ability to have in this game, at least as a non-ultimate. The fact that I stopped complaining about it doesn't mean I've grown to accept it, just that I've realized complaining won't make Riot get rid of it at this point.

Xenos111111/15/2016, 10:05:17 PM4 votes

Or maybe a month later people who didn't like the change still aren't cool with it, but they just don't feel like complaining about it again after a month will get them anywhere?

Obviously sometimes it simply takes a while to get used to something. But some changes that have been around for at least a few months I just wished never happened (e.g. Soraka rework, tower nerf, removal of upgraded yellow/pink trinket, and probably a lot more). But I know that once a champion gets reworked there's pretty much 0 chance of them being reverted, so there's no point bitching about it a year later.

Fact is that complaining about something just after it goes live and is fresh in peoples' minds is the time when it'll get the most attention and response, that's why people do it.

At this point you don't even need to adapt, if you don't like it you don't like it but give CONSTRUCTIVE feedback instead of crying and sh*tposting about it. Crying about team builder or the premades or anything else you can find WONT HELP. If you want Riot to take you seriously at least dont act like someone that doesn't know how to use a spoon.

But yea I agree with you, it would be nice if people would actually give a chance to the changes but its not happening soon or later... sadly.

iainB851/15/2016, 7:36:46 PM4 votes

When the change is 5 minutes to get into a game to 28 minutes to get into a game I think the complaints are justified.

If this doesn't improve I'll just spend my time elsewhere.

Frickface1/15/2016, 8:31:16 PM4 votes

I feel like a larger reason that people stop complaining about things isn't necessarily that they get used to it but more of they realize that Riot probably isn't going to do anything. Riot has a pretty long streak of not effectively listening to its player base.

420doingit1/15/2016, 9:01:30 PM4 votes

Well I dont know how this is working for the rest of u but my 10Min plus que times suck. I have had MANY games so far where the que time is OVER 20 min. YEA CHANGE IS GOOD.

For Carthage1/15/2016, 10:09:13 PM3 votes

While for some things this applies, this kind of queue actually isn't new - I've already dealt with it myself. It's basically ripped directly off of Heroes of the Storm.

When I first got to ranked in that game and saw that solo-queue was for 1-4 man queues, I was like, "Wait, what?" Yeah, in that one at least if you had a full 5 you were made to go into team queue. Anyhow, you think, "Wow, that's great! I'm not much for having to deal with randoms, and this way I don't have to choose between a bunch of my friends!"

Well, issue number 1 immediately is that as you get into higher MMR's, you see way more teams. This means to have a great chance at doing much, you need to have the same organization - IE, gotta have a team as well. So if you're never climbing, you're probably having a jolly time and are free to go about playing when and where you want.

This gets to not be the case in higher MMR's. It may not even be more teams but more that a higher percentage of players are playing in teams - this basically restricts what times you can go into solo-queue if you don't have people to play with. This also means if you're not on at good hours of the day, then you're probably not going to have a consistent team, either. If you don't have a consistent team, you can't climb higher. You will basically be stunted solely by the fact that you do not have the same access to resources other players do - don't have a diamond 1 friend on at the same time as you? Well, sucks to be you.

It's something that sounds great on paper but in practice is just lousy and even more restricting than ever. You're stuck to either fall or not climb, or you're given strict time-frames when you and your mates can all be on to queue up. And that's granting that you have a full set of 5 people to join you.

People aren't cool with changes. It's just Riot not giving a damn and we quickly realize that our opinion doesn't matter

Everyone has a personal opinion... the truth is that RIOT will never really listen to you, they have their internal people that are just trying to come wsith some brilliant ideas... and like every personal idea that any of us has .-..sometimes is good , sometimes not :D ;) and then we can say, no, before was better, because it really was...or maybe it wasnt, well, depends the perspective, what is good for 1 person sometimes is not so good for another,... its like beauty... peopel fall in love for different things... and if we all love the same thing, it's only urf sheep --- sometiems its not bad to be a sheep :D So dont worry, no matter what you say, they will probably see it , probably not. In the end is how they see the world that matters, and not how we see it...

fort example, I always thought RIOT had such a great potential to sell better merchandising, to not put such overpriced skin (virtual useless in real life) prices ...probably work towars a F2p Fighting game, or some ORPG, or a RTS... within the LoL universe. B ut ye, they will keep doing the same thing all over again... till some real competition comes in and they start losing some numbers.

In fact, their ranking system is still so outdated, mmr and that ladder, meh... they could come with more creative ways of bring a true league system and not just a fake league where the mmr is the most important value... in the end it is just about the wins and not about who you face, and how you get to be in the top of the league by playing with many players that only belongs to that league,.... well, maybe season 7.

another thing, why w e only 8 kills to reach legendary, increase the legendary to become more legendary and in between add more voices...add also something for assists... a support should be cheered for his hard work... something like monster assist, or life saver, teampusher, team master, legenary assitr

You would have a valid point, but the pure fact of the matter is that many, MANY times, Riot is just WRONG and we're forced to just deal with it.

It doesn't make it any LESS of a stupid/bad decision just because a month later people grudgingly accept that Riot has literally no interest in the opinions and feelings of their playerbase now that they're a big company.

Sure the people going full rage-train could act better, but they're reacting to stupid decisions that should have been very obvious as stupid decisions, and Riot is refusing to listen because they're convinced they're the smartest motherfuckers on the planet and their players are somehow "below" them.

Assuming that you're referring to the Dynamic Queue and New Champ Select changes, the fact is that there was just some plain undeniably (at least by rational people) bad choices made with either how things are designed or how they're handled. If a month later, people are tired of of trying to reach Riot's ear, that doesn't make those decisions any LESS of bad decisions, it just means people gave up on Riot, as is frequently the case because Riot doesn't care. Not really. Not in a way that means they have real respect for the people who've supported them for years.

Riot is not EA or anything like that, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying A) People react so powerfully because Riot is wrong a lot and they're just wayyyyyyyy too arrogant or comfortable to accept that fact any more and B) People don't "like" the changes a month later, they just remember Riot won't give a shit no matter how much they complain because Riot is never willing to legitimately accept that they fucked up.

Riot did listen, once upon a time. Then they became a global phenomenon and forget their fucking roots. They don't think they need their players any more and don't respect them as long as those players keep buying skins. Eventually they'll stop being the top of the dogpile in their genre. I would be willing to bet they'll change their approach to their community pretty quick then. Or they'll fade into obscurity. That's how arrogance works.

I have two complaints, one I have no clue for a solution, two its a simple solution. First: The match making seems to be off and needs to be tweaked some, how, hell I don't know, but the games get out of hand really badly right now. Second: Remove the secondary feature from normals. It may be a bit premature to say, but I pick mid/top and I got top (secondary 5 times out of 7) the other two I picked fill in which I got support both times. Thats why I liked the old team builder because if I had time for one game I would like to play the position I want, not a distant second choice.

macromite1/15/2016, 11:50:02 PM2 votes

i honestly still don't like half of what has happened in the past since they released kalista. I just don't talk about it one the boards because people are really really dumb here.

Arcere1/15/2016, 10:26:02 PM1 votes

I'm surprised we haven't seen a resurgence to bring back visible ELO/MMR; Not to mention a heated debate about getting rid of promos altogether.

TL;DR Change is hard

I love the new champ select. I can understand why folks would still want Team Builder though.

this isn't true though, you remember when they updated the UI and people lost their minds, until they implemented a few of things thing people said had to be done before it was even released? and people don't always complain about everything, some of the changes they have made over the years have been welcomed, but clearly riot has some problems which I think might just be due to high turn over rate, its like with every change they make they didn't learn anything form the last so they are either stupid or its a whole new team each time so all the knowledge the 1st team learn is lost, then the new team has to fuck up and learn then they move on then a new team comes in....., well that's just what I Think anyways as nothing else really makes sense.
