Opinion on 1v1/2v2

Hey guys, After Riot's last update on the showdown/Magma Chamber, I've read that sometime after 1v1/2v2 showdown's release, only 1% (Maybe less?) of in-game time was founded. Do you think this is a fair assumption? after another summoner posted as well asking how is this fair when the games can be very short? Myself speaking I've played 1v1 and 2v2 and sometimes the game did not reach 10 minutes long.

I can agree that Magma chamber was not truly needed. (Even though it would be nice to have a different map, not a revamp like Howling Abyss) But even so, I personally felt that the map they had it on was quite fair. Complaints?

People Complained that it took too long for summoners to go back to get items or heal? Well, If you timed it right, by pushing them to their tower, then going back. Unless you spent 30 good seconds at the store debating and thinking what you want (Which should be planned out before you leave the first time) Then yes, your tower/ minions are behind. But if you go back, go in, get out, you should be fine. Dont blame your personal poor planning on Riot.

So, What do you think should happen? I was looking forward to the 1v1/2v2, it gave Duo's a great chance to just rely on each other, rather than the "3rd" random wheel or 2 screws loose. I believe if Riot made 2v2 A Ranked Queue then the idea of 2v2 would be more receptive and rewarding, rather than 10 IP points upon victory?

well that's all. Keep it clean and put the trolls under the bridge where they belong, No offense Trundle! tell me what you think guys!

I think Riot should change the gameplay for this mode in certain ways, since it's a very, very special type of game mode anyway. I propose:

Pre-set item purchasing time slots set every 5 minutes (so both teams/players go at the same time so laning can be more evenly contested). This will "balance" the game mode in terms of which duo/player is better at laning, and not have some minions do the work for you. This should only trigger when both players have at least 1 non-base tower running (the first 2).

The number of items should be reduced. These games are short and intense, and items that help high-tempo play should remain (eg. CD items, Regen items, etc.). Late-game items and useless items such as Soulstealer should be gone to simplify the UI and make item purchasing as quick and easy as possible.

I honestly see this game mode a duel mode, not a random lane taken out of a bigger map or something. As such, the game should be slightly altered so that there is less minion/tower influence, and mostly champion decision-making and abilities.

Just my take

Nice Post Xisled95, the Mechanics of what you propose make's sense. It should be centered to Champion decision making and the outcome of that, rather than minions pushing.
