Fantastic resource for new players!!!
This guy straight up is why I'm in plat, his videos were slightly outdated when I found them, but it still helped me grow as a player (I was gold for 2 seasons). Seriously though, new players that are looking for a resource that can just help them make sense of lol in a calm and friendly, no pressure situation. He has a new series out now that's more focused on narrower subjects (watch these too) but he has older lectures w/ vids for every lane, and most roles, teamfighting, team comps, snowballing, losing, ending, carrying games, etc.. .he covers bot lane mechanics so well, I promise that these videos will help you do better in your games. Just remember the old ones aren't fresh, the new ones are (but he is a diamond player just giving the world a knowledge base to enjoy) Just don't be a know it all after learning everything, stay positive (like scary positive, practice typing) and communicate. Also, I haven't done this, but try to abuse the dynamic queue ladder and 5 man, its elo hell... bring friends. The boards have people looking for people to play with and maybe if you go in the LFG chat room (you have to enter it manually) maybe you can find some people to play with that are close to your level. The hard truth is that 95% of people in plat+ have played hundreds or thousands of ranked games.
This has always helped me keep going. The LP system in ranked means that IF you only lose to people who are actually ranked higher than you, you will inevitably reach promos and climb. You just gotta beat people higher than you once in a while.
Last tips. TAKE BREAKS, win 3 games? take 15 minutes to stand up and refresh, grab a bite or a drink, rest your eyes. Lose 1-2 games? Maybe come back tomorrow and try again. Finally the most important thing to do is accept that you suck (as do I) and know that you must accept that you made some mistake when you die almost everytime, isolate that mistake and try not to do it again (running is an option). Also, use wired connections if at all possible, made a huge difference for me once I educated myself and made the switch. If you've done these things and you find that you like league and you want to improve, a easy place you can improve with no pressure is csing in custom games, about 20 CS equals a kill worth of gold if you have 80 cs and the other laner misses minions and has 40, you might as well be 2/0 compared to him once you back and spend that gold.
If you have any questions or want some links to more resources leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.
FOLLOW THE LINK!!! "UNSWLOLSOC" ON YOUTUBE!!! -scroll down and at least watch the bare minimums, I would recommend the full "leaguecraft 101 lecture series" after that you can watch the new series to be a refresher of some of the more relevant ideas that are easier to apply in the current meta. (meta means what your more likely to see based on the current state of the game)
Here's a link to his video playlist I recommend
