Have you ever been in a game about to get a penta and all of a sudden you... dont? Ever went to blind someone as teemo and all of a sudden your game turns into the matrix? no matter what the reason may be as long as it's network related you probably feel like throwing a little fit if you're a big gamer. so here's the deal - let's do a poll to see how many players have ever in their life experienced ping spikes. if you have a very special one that haunts you until this very day leave it below in the comments.

everyone has , now that is just the reality of the internet,. you could blame league but its not just them, there are alot of factors that play into it.

there's an ulterior motive behind my poll.

His motive is regarding the "Ping your Ping" post and he thinks that only 3% of league players have a reliable internet connection. A single ping spike every once in a while does not equate to an unreliable internet connection.

For me I consider it unreliable when there are frequent spikes in ping that affect your ability to respond to your opponent. If you're dying from lag, or letting your opponent beat you teammates cause you are lagging out more than once or twice in a game - that to me is unreliable. As far as ping; for me that would be spiking or constant ping of over 150.

That's cause they may have the same effect at that ping as I have at 150. Mine sits usually around 90 and I have no issues at that so long as it isn't fluctuating; only does when I get a phone call. At home it's usually about 80 and I play via Ethernet so that I get zero spikes, period.

In short; ping isnt the sole factor in lag.

You must be living fairly close to New York (Assuming you live in NA).

Yeah. I'm about 1000 miles further which is why my ping is much higher when playing. But I also don't experience lag spikes.

My mistake. I thought they were in New York. I'm still 1600 miles from them and the point is still the same. You're closer and on a reliable internet source so your ping is lower.

Highest I've ever had was over 60,000. Got to the point where I couldn't tell how much it was anymore cause the numbers where mixing with the FPS numbers.

Lol I like it. I generally enjoy to see how far my ping can get to, every day it's a new height...

If this is an everyday thing you probably shouldn't be playing league! Test your internet if unsure via a ping test, a bot match, and then an aram match lol!!

Its more of an issue via our provider and usual lasts only around 1 minute or so, at that level it really is no biggy.

As I mentioned in another post, I play league while at work by tethering internet from my phone. A couple weeks ago I didn't realize my computer had a large update coming and in the middle of a norms match my ping hit 12,000 and would not drop below 4000. Turns out I downloaded a 4GB update while playing. Bye Bye Data Plan!
