recently i was playing due with a fellow silver player after many wins my mmr was G4 - i am S2 - also i was on a win streak and a 57% win rate
anyways today i played with a bronze 1 player after another win i checked my mmr and it was lower than my division it said S3 mmr ..and ofc i was pissed off anyway does anyone explain this to me ?
It is, but sites only estimate. Rito hides mmr. Sites estimate mmr by comparing who is in your matches and their ranks to your rank. Matchmaker tries to put you with people similar mmr, but in duos, it tries to match you with people of a similar avg mmr of your group instead. Duoing with lower peeps makes sites estimate your mmr lower, and higher, higher.
If you are duoing a lot, might as well ignore mmr estimating sites because it will be completely off.
Best indicator of mmr is how much LP you gain or lose for a match. If you gain a lot on a win or lose very little for a defeat, then your mmr is high for your rank.
