please don't buy prebuilt.
Building a computer is easy as pie.
Most of it is plug and play.
there are tons of guides on youtube and tomshardware.
Its not a huge challenge if you are willing to educate yourself through a little self research online!

Think about the usage of the pc!
Is it going to be for gaming only, do you plan on streaming, are you going to use it for university?
Computers arent obsolete after 2 years anymore.
The rule of thumb is now, build the best system with the best components that you can possibly afford, because with minor upgrades, the machine will last you at least 5 years!
I put some systems together for kicks. be aware that prices change constantly.
November is a great time to build a machine because of black friday week (stuff gets really cheap)

as the guy before me said, pcpartpicker is a great tool to use!
Graphics cards:
amd or nvidia are both great choices.
dont listen to fanboys. it really is a preference.
(i have an amd card at the moment and it served me well. my next one is going to be the gtx970 though)
Check out tomshardware to read up on benchmarks and differences and to see if the games you play run well on a card that interests you.
Processors:
I dont wanna sound like a fanboy, but i recommend staying with intel.
They are better for gaming and in my personal case better for work.
AMD is not bad and it is cheaper. My personal preference here is intel.
The systems i showed above are not the cheapest! You can get performance with cheaper parts, you can save $ on the case and on other things and its always worth to check out sales and to compare.
But the systems i showed you are solid and will serve for a long time to come!
