Varus, Marksman secondary: mage????

Why is his secondary role mage of all things!? Even assassin makes more sense and he doesn't scale in magic effectively at all!

Because he doesn't 100-0 people with his spells, and he can be built as an AD caster with decent utility?

Remember, assassins can be AP or AD, so why can't mages? It might be weird, but an AD mage isn't beyond possibilities anymore.

I'm just wondering why Miss Fortune isn't classified as such. She casts, and has an alternate AP build path that's hilariously fun.

Hmmm I never really thought of it like that. Usually when I hear of a mage I think of a magic themed champion, but when you call it a caster it makes sense....

It didn't make sense to me at first, but then I saw Archer from Fate/Stay Night (UBW), it finally made sense...

Made generally refers to a person who is Acaster meaning they are ability reliant . Because with certain builds varies can spam his Q that's why he's considered a mage

Have you not tried playing him as an AD Caster prioritizing Armor Penetration and CDR? He's quite strong in that role.

Yeah I have and it doesn't seem like a "mage." Most ad mid laners are classified as assassin/fighter or vice versa. It would be good to get an actual mage with ad scaling. But then again, it would be op because of the autos.
