more like, "the playerbase after tt was deleted after 4 years of nobody playing it". riot sucks the big one in 9/10 decisions but this wasn't one

Just saying that ARAM had the same level and number of changes and attention for a while, yet managed to not be a dead mode populated entirely by bots and people who want free victorious skins.
You're confusing cause and effect. People didn't stop playing TT because Riot ignored it; Riot started to ignore TT because the patches and rework didn't bring in players. They could easily have justified pulling the plug years ago.
They'll never put time and resources into an unplayed gamemode.
