When Janna gets visually updated I want her to stay "sexualized," hear me out

Listen, while she obviously needs to change from a girl in a bikini who only speaks in wind puns, I think it is vital that Janna still shows a lot of skin and remains "sexualized" when she gets visually updated. Being revered as some higher being or goddess is usually in nature for them to be "perfect" or "beautiful." This goes along with a lot of mythology where the purest beings are often naked or showing a lot of skin because that is the human's original form and that is way to show them to be beautiful. I'm not trying to say that in order for Janna to be viewed as a beautiful woman she needs to be naked and "slim-thicc" but the gracefulness and the overall higher presence of a primordial being added to her character would fit really nice by turning her bikini into the nudeness of ancient art and culture. I don't know what direction Riot is going with Janna, but since she already is mostly naked I would be very surprised if she was all covered up in her visual update to begin with.

We literally want her like a Greek goddess. I think it was heavily implied she was a sort of pagan deity that was worshipped long before Zaun was made.

I wouldn't mind this because she looks so pretty in her splash art. However, make the clothing look more graceful/classy. Like, why is she wearing Walmart underwear with toilet paper attached to it?

So you want her to be something along the lines of a "fertility" or "nature" goddess? I guess that makes sense. Its a different reason than anyone else has to be scantily clad.

I don't mind scantily clad women characters in the first place, but a reason for it, even if just a visual design reason, is always appreciated. I start to have a problem when it actively detracts from her character. Like if they had made Taliyah dress sexy, it would have taken away from her young optimism, insecurity and innocence that are core to her character.

Agreed.

Keep her sexualized, but have her exude a certain gracefulness, a lightness, to fit with her air spirit nature. Also, maybe have her be a more natural beauty, by further emphasizing her beauty, rather than giving her make up.

I agree with you, in her new lore Janna started off as a wind spirit guiding seafarers, the shrines they built for her were even used as figureheads for their ships. Therefore, Janna's design (imo) could also draw some inspiration from real life ship figureheads, often women partially wearing some long flowing dress.

This could work very well if they gave her a body that focused on being graceful and unearthly rather than busty and sexy.

I agree with your reasoning, though I do want to say that nudity is not (inherently) sexualization. I actually think the amount of skin she's showing is pretty natural, although I think the outfit itself has a weird design.

Keep her curves though. Covering her up isn't a big deal but if they turn her body into something like jinx ima be salty

They need to make her more Angry Greek Goddess or Merciful Tease Goddess than "Hi I'm a Revlon commercial model in a bed sheet speaking like I'm high"

Do you know why all those Greek and Roman statues and Renaissance artwork (like Michelangelo's David) have naked people in them? Nudity was also commonly associated with heroism and divinity. That's also why the original Olympics had the athletes compete naked.

HungryAngry2SPP8/18/2018, 10:37:29 PM4 votes

No, she should look like spooky ghost GP, she s a wind goddess afterall

AugustHeatHaze8/19/2018, 2:18:58 AM3 votes

a renaissance painting inspired character is a great idea, this is how you give characters few clothes while having it be an actually good character design i feel like a lot of people don't understand that the people who object to the "sexy" designs don't have a problem with nudity or sexy stuff, it should just have a coherent theme that isn't "everyone gets bikini's and flat stomachs and the same bodytype HIGH HEELS TOO"

turning her bikini into the nudeness of ancient art and culture.

would be really good because its an actual "aesthetic" its not just """sexy""" which a LOT of the champs are

also when i say sexy i mean sexy for a specific group of people, personally i don't find leo's high heels or boobplate sexy, i find it silly, i DO find full platemail sexy.

here are some examples that riot could take inspiration from

venus with a mirror https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_with_a_Mirror

birth of venus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_Venus

hey, look, venus has a bit of fat on her arms and a bit in the belly, its not completely flat, we should also include that.

alternatively, i prefer this, just cover her in long flowing fabric that doesn't seem to have a certain form, you cant really tell if its clothes or not, like shes just wrapping herself in a huge sheet and that sheet is the wind and sky https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2e/d5/38/2ed53846b86b3b04f1db8a1143baa7f7.jpg this SORTA shows what i mean

i think we could give the venus look to a new character because janna is a wind goddess not a goddess of love

That's actually why I absolutely loved the lore update they did for Janna. It actually gives some sense to why she's...dressed that way. Mind you, before the Zaun update her lore was that she was just a little girl who found out she had wind powers and lived in Zaun. Now she's revered as a goddess of protection and wind, so what she's wearing really just matters to whatever she's manifesting as.

Other than that, I hope they make it so she looks a little more 'in-human' in a sense, something to make it a little more obvious that she isn't just some normal Zaunite human, but a powerful deity from the other side of the world. I was thinking they can give her white harpy-like wings on her arms, or glowing blue markings on her body.

EmperorSacrael8/18/2018, 8:03:08 PM3 votes

I can sign for this but only if her body is christian angel meaning of perfect, so with both male and female body parts, LoL would use more hermaphrodites :3*[sg-lulu]*

I'd like Janna's playerbase to be catered to first and foremost... which might be mostly girls. Not saying she can't be sexy under your model, but I wouldn't consider her sexualized if sexyness is just a side effect of being pretty and nude.

I want more clothes on Janna. The white doesn't stand out very well when playing her she she already passes for naked at a glance, and I play league around prying eyes.

KnifeCat8/19/2018, 1:26:47 AM2 votes

They should give her a few pieces of leaves for clothing.

OverpoweredSoap8/19/2018, 1:37:29 AM2 votes

That's not really being sexualized though, I think?

Being sexualized is when a character is needlessly sexual for no reason or it just doesn't mesh with their lore or personality (iirc).

Janna's kinda of makes sense because a goddess, so her being beautiful and perfect like makes sense since most gods who are worshiped are expected to be so or are depicted as such.

At least it makes sense with her current lore.

I actually had an idea for Janna VU. She wouldn't end up wearing anything 'cause she's a spirit. But her ethereal body would have kind of morphed over time to look like Zaunite clothing. So like, she would appear to be wearing a work shirt and/or corset and short baggy pants, with gear designs on her shoulders or arms. Is this what you're after or a bit much?
