What do you think the most successful champion release was?

A lot goes into consideration here like

  • Lore
  • Balance
  • Hype
  • Released with an event
  • A new champion into your main lane?
  • Exciting design

I started playing league right before Lucian was released and over the years that I've played league of legends I remember the great sneak peaks like Tahm Kench's video, Kindred's stories, and Jinx's graffiti that really got me hyped for the next champion. I absolutely love Xayah and Rakan, but meanwhile I couldn't care less when Camille was released.

I would say Aurelion Sol has had one of the most successful champion releases. I feel as though the hype started in Bard's teaser trailer, and who wasn't excited to see what Ao Shin had became. Not to mention he wasn't op!

Re-release Taric

But I'm biased.

Haha I think the main reason why u weren't really excited was cuz Camille just....appeared xD, there was like no set up or hint she was coming, meanwhile many of the other recently released champs had some sort of warning either in game (bard, tahm, kindred) or there was a video/picture giving a hint (Aurelion....lol and bard, tahm and kindred) before the champs were actually revealed. There asnt any prep time to get hyped to see her.

GP rework - because it was during such an awesome lore event (Bilgewater: Burning Tides) with great game modes (Black Market Brawlers and Butcher's Bridge).

2nd would be Azir release with Ascension game mode coming out the 1st time.

Rakan and Xayah 100%, I think the fact that they were definitely a couple really got a lot more people intersted in lore just to see how they hooked up; it's so fun watching people role play with them in game, and role playing with them myself- especially when on the enemy team to each other and you're just taunting each other in character. Beyond them, Kled was hilarious, you heard Skaarl get scared when you went towards bushes, then that video; I couldn't stop laughing. And Taliyah was really awesome, her teaser video really showed her free spirited nature, and got you ready for the character.
