Snowdown Legendary Skins Question

So about that new thing with Snowdown where buying a legendary skin also unlocks you a mystery skin, does anyone know how that works with gifting?

Like if I gift someone a legendary skin, would they also get the mystery skin, or would I get it instead because I'm the one who bought the legendary?
