I know that I'm bad.
I've been playing this game for a year starting jan 4 and I suck.
But last season I got placed in bronze 2. And I know, for certain, that I'm much, much better since then. But I heard that your likely to end up lower than last year...so am I basically guaranteed bronze again n o matter how good I do in pomos?
Climb up again. You did it before, you'll do it again if you put your mind to it.
From at least the old way of soft reseting, anybody above high silver was pushed lower, and anybody below the midline was pushed pushed up. Therefore you may end up higher.
Most of what you hear are people's complaints, you don't always here people complaining about getting placed higher.

From what I have seen you are going to be guaranteed bronze. If you do well like 8/10 then maybe bronze 4 otherwise bronze 5. Also, prepare for many many high to low silver players joining you and to top it all off Riot will throw in some golds as well. Any plats that drop there are not actually plat or trolled down there on purpose.
Start of the season is great isn't it :)
you are pretty much guaranteed to be placed in bronze if you were bronze 2 as your final placement and if you're "certain that you're much much better since then" then you should have no problem climbing
