Is my chat log truly 14-days ban worthy?

Hey guys (and also Lyte), so I have just been suspended for 14 days due to toxic behavior. In my email, this chat log was sent to me.

Long story short, I am smurfing on this account (which I believe is allowed on Riot's ToS) and I was carrying really hard. Yes, I started carrying and got cocky, but keep in mind this is to my own teammates. I told them I can assure them we will win, because I will carry this game. However one of my teammates Ashe asked me what rank my main is. I told him Plat Division.

Suddenly he started proceeding to trash talk, saying how he will be plat in a few months (he is only level 20ish). I suddenly got defensive, explaining how it took me 4 years to get it through hard work (not the best I know). He then began to say how I am bad and he is good because he is getting 180 CS at 20 min.

Then, if you look at my log, I started trolling him about how he must be diamond if he's so good. Then HE BEGINS TALKING IN ALL CHAT telling the other team how my life is sad playing league for 4 years and still only plat. I then said I go to an Ivy League University and have quite a bit of money, which means my life is quite well, and not sad at all.

He then convinced everyone on the other team that I am showing off my wealth, and everyone began trashtalking me saying "money must be everything to life right? You're sad, truly sad." After the game I think like at least 6 players reported me just for trollz and I immediately got banned. Keep in mind that prior to this game I've played exclusively ARAM and haven't talked much at all (bring those chat logs up too if you don't believe me).

I understand my tone of voice may be condescending or mean, but I don't think what I've said is 14-days ban worthy. From what I've seen, people have been banned when they say stuff like "go kill yourself, youre so noob, fking uninstall" etc. But all I was trying to do was explain why I don't have a sad life. Yes, I agree that showing off is not a good attitude, but I became very defensive when this player decided to trash talk me first.

The most I deserve is a warning for offensive behavior, or even a chat restriction. This is my first offense ever, and I don't see why one game leads to an immediate 14 day ban. I'm not asking to revert this ban, but I just question the "new automated system."

Please review my case and post here about your opinions. Thank you all for reading.

You weren't terribly toxic, but you kept going.

It adds up. Take the 14 day vacation and try to not insult others regardless of how bad you think they are.

I would like to reiterate this. In general it is considered extremely rude to become more focused on arguing with another player than playing the game. You clearly spam chat with the sole intention of arguing and this is indeed a toxic action. Is it SUPER toxic? No, not at al, but you are rude in return with your chat, and you spend more time typing than playing which is also rude. These things are frowned upon as a community and will likely get you reported and justifiably so. Is this 14 day ban worthy? Hell no, not in my opinion. But all we have at the moment are 14 day bans ever since tribunal went down and thus any type of toxic activity runs the risk of a 2 week ban since the elscalating bans 24 hous, 3 days, 1 week then 2 weeks have been eliminated for just 14 day bans. If tribunal were active, this would likely be a fringe case and probably get a 70% punish vote. Which is a very low total for an actual punishment to be received. All the same, you must abide by the rules we currently have in place, just as everyone else must abide by them also. Its gonna leave a bad taste in the mouth, sure. I would recommend a 3 day ban myself for this instance, not 14, but you can take all this with a grain of salt and learn to improve for the future. We are all human and we all make mistakes, what is important is that we learn from them and not repeat them.

Assuming this is the first offense, yeah, I do think 14-day ban is a little harsh for that. Definitely deserves a warning or maybe a shorter ban, though.

Also remember that chat logs are merely a sample.

Of course, it's not my opinion that matters.

Negative, yes. Deserving 14 days ban? Not remotely close.

Personally I've seen much worse and the best was 500 games long chat restriction.

Based off of these logs alone, I don't think you deserved a 14-day ban. Here's the thing, though. You weren't punished based solely on that game. Punishments are because of multiple games, not just one. The current system only sends you the chat logs of the most recent game that triggered your punishment, but you most likely showed some sort of negative behavior in multiple games.
