I'm being literal. I thought it was people in my house using netflix, but that isn't the case. As of right now, it's 12:45 at night, and I live in Montreal. How is it physically possible that i go from 80 ping(what i hope for) to literally 14000 ping. after it hits 200 the game gets 100% unplayable. No one is using netflix/ the internet besides me because I'm the only one awake in my house. Can some one explain how ping works? There is no way my internet is this bad it only started happening about 6 months ago and I've been playing league for 4 years. Does any one else have this problem?? I don't know what to do, and I lose a ton of LP because of this issue. item 3070 item 3070

You either need a better computer/laptop or better internet. I am Massachusetts for college and the server location for NA is in Chicago, Illinois so we are roughly the same distance from it and I have never had that large of lag. I get some spikes here and there to around 300 for like half a second and at its highest around 900, but my college also has below average wifi for so many people using it and my laptop is 5 years old, so if you are doing worse then me then you need an upgrade.

Remember that your provider (internet provider, i.e. SaskTel, etc.) could be the issue, this is most likely due to the fact that they have to reset their servers now and then and doing it at a time such as what you said would cause the least amount of anger from their customers, if you find it's happening constantly around the same time maybe contact your provider when it occurs and ask him/her about the issue. Even if you or your families devices are turned off, your wifi will still keep it's IP's and allow it to take a slight amount of bandwidth to allow it to receive such things as emails or messages. I had this issue, but it was due to us having our SaskTel tv box taking up too much bandwidth.

Note: If all else fails or you are told it's due to bandwidth, Ethernet wiring is what will save your life.
