What mid laner do you recommend when facing a tank team?

You know these days we see a lot of Gragas, Shyvana, Malphite, Udyr, Peppy, Nautilus...

As a mainly mid player, I wonder what mid laner would be the best against all these HPs and CCs.

My main champ is Katarina, so most of time I still play her and have to wait my ennemies to burn their CCs for me to jump in, but some of them are smart asses and wait this moment haha. Well eventually I know Kata isn't the best champs for this situations. My other mid laners are Fizz, Ahri, Talon, Morgana, Viktor, Akali (risky but she can melt tanks).

What's your opinion, from your own experiences?

Brand

Malzahar can still kill almost anyone in a combo.

Ahri is pretty good at avoiding their CC and kiting them out.

Corki Varus can both double as ADC, letting them kill durable targets with their DPS.

Urgot can work rather well against tanky teams since he gets durable enough to shrug off their base damage and his E's synergy with Black Cleaver lets you significantly shred their armor.

Brand can poke them down with his passive and Liandry's Torment. He will deal a lot of AoE damage damage during fights.

Lulu Orianna LuxMorgana provide great utility for teamfights and for protecting your carries, letting them live long enough to kill the tanks.

Viktor Cassiopeia Ryze Kayle Velkoz Vladimir Azir have good sustained damage, letting them eventually wear through the enemy tanks.

Mid laners typically aren't built to "shred" tanks. If any, I would say Brand Leblanc and another person suggested Vladimir.

Your job actually isn't to shred tanks though. Kill the squishies first, using your range and/or mobility. Pick an AP champion you're great at and try to beat your lane so you can roam.

Tough to say. Mid lane is usually go ap vs ap. I like lb, twisted, vel, off the top of my head. I will also take llaoi mid and various and jhin.

Viktor Cassiopeia Brand Azir Velkoz

very good sustained damage, % damage, or a LOT of kiting power is important

Vel'Koz's innate damage lets you focus on magic pen to keep whittling them down, and you can kite a lot of tanks very easily with Q and rylai's.

Cass isn't good if your team won't or can't peel for you, but if you can comfortably work behind a front line then you get to open shop on the enemy team.

Azir and Viktor have ridiculous DPS and sustained burst, and Rylai's complements them both to make their kiting even better.

Brand has % damage out the butt. not much else to say. He's fodder if he gets caught though.

Heim is another. I play him against anyone. He can take it and wins lanes and kills.

Boomerangbro3/27/2016, 3:09:12 PM1 votes

Urgot. Passive that reduces damage. Shield that provides CC. Damage that lowers enemy armor. Hard CC ult. High Damage. Tanky. Long range.

Cassiopeia Can do a lot w/ Liandry, but... Brand because %hp Talon is fine if you get youmuus and BC, just jump onto a squishy, and your ult wand w will shred their armor enough that your team can get to them in team fights.

You could try Kindred mid, I've wanted to do that. It looks good on paper.

Viktor is a well know tank buster. I still remember that I played him in aram first time and I could just SHRED half HP of 2 tanks that were harassing my team. His own CC and burst also comes in handy as well.

KogMaw

His Q shreds resistances for your whole team to take advantage of, and his W does %maxHP damage. His R has strong execute damage. His E takes good advantage of Liandry's because it is an AoE slow. He also offers good wave clear.

With multiple tanks you will need Void Staff, which is generally a good idea on him anyway. I like Nashor's on him for everything it has, but you'll need an early mana item.
