Malphite

My first game with him, I said out loud, "God damn, this guy is slow."

And he said, "I'm moving as fast as I can."

And then I came.

Mordekaiser 'Nuff said

As for other champions I thoroughly enjoy, but who are no match for numero uno;

Skarner Loved him ever since I picked him up in season 3 (RIP permaslow Q). His lore, voice and art style are some of my favorites in all of League and him being so damn under appreciated makes it even better. He REALLY misses his kind

Nautilus Welp, he's a tin can just like Morde but beyond his rumbling voice and gritty visuals lays a champion you can so easily fall in love with. His laugh is just too adorable and his kit just revolves around being a bodyguard and weighing your enemies down.

Hecarim One of my more recent pickups for top lane. His lore and play style are a big plus but what really seals the deal for me is his voice.

Other champs I tend to play if I ever get bored of Morde. Swain Malzahar Viktor Vladimir

Cassiopeia Cassiopeia hands down... Too bad she is always ignored/overlooked by riot and she never gets skins nor any type of promotion (videos, even freaking figures) anything. She is my most loved champ but riot's most hated.

Ahri From the first time I played her in early season 3 I fell in love instantly. The aggressive, diving assassin playstyle was something that suited my own, and even though she's a mindless kite mage now, she's still my favorite champion.

Vayne What would have been Akali for similar reasons turned into Vayne later since Riot's solution to her oppressive state was to gut her and leave her for dead. One of the primary reasons I picked up Vayne was because I liked watching Doublelift bodybag people left and right on stream and during pro games and was inspired to try her.

I could also make a case for Syndra if she wasn't nerfed so hard and would play her more if Yasuo wasn't broken bullsh - I mean such a popular, dominating pick, or Volibear just because he's my comfort pick for top lane.

Poppy Because I love her joke and overall character. Small tough blue woman pushing people around, her niche play style and lack of popular use really show how much of an underdog she is and everyone loves routing for the underdog.

Also Braum Because wow how can you be such a nice person while also being so much fun to play.

Bard : I kinda play that way all the time. love the gates. love the stuns. plus the consistent shut downs vs Leblanc. those are hilarious. Singed : the only way to play this champ and win is to completely troll your opponent. anything else fails. Yorick : don't ask for reasons. Mordekaiser : before update.

Tribbles Foxfolk11/24/2015, 2:22:43 PM3 votes

Gnar My main toplaner and tied for my favorite champion. Gnar is so fun to play, though to be honest, infuriating to play against, getting 100-0'd against a wall you weren't even close to.

Sona Pretty much the definition of "Keep it simple, stupid," but somehow so fun to play. Straightforward kit and badass skins (Silent Night + DJ) are all this champ needed. Also, the new Mastery system works surprisingly well for her. My go-to support and sometimes my midlaner (it works, trust me[TM]).

CrushforceX11/24/2015, 2:16:41 AM3 votes

SionLuxKassadinKayleGarenAmumu. New player here so i like the easy champs with decision making and/or combos that aren't to hard to pull off IMO. I.E Sion, feels extremely satisfying when i ult right down mid lane, time my shield, and land it right as the q goes off. Lux/Kassadin would be the combos, Kayle/Sion a kind of hybrid, Garen/Amumu is all decision making. IDC about that loser who says Garen is face-mash. He actually takes decent risk reward, because if you 1v5 it does not go well, no matter how skilled you are. Treat him like an assassin but with more tank and less mobility, if you try anything but continuous picks you will get beaten on. These are my For Fun champs, I wouldn't try to take sion or kass in a ranked match, im simply not skilled enough with them. Workin on it though

P.S urgot seems realllly fun.

Meep Man11/24/2015, 2:38:50 AM3 votes

Bard Simply because he has a cool minigame that changes the game that only helps him instead of forcing him into a specific playstyle. The experience of Bard is unlike any other champion. Then you add on that he is the most unique character in the game. No one comes near how unique he is and how cool is Lore is. Not to mention he is technically the most powerful being currently in the game, with only Kindred coming near him.

Yasuo and Zed , probably.

Zed because he was the first full-price champ I every bought (over two years ago now), and because of how much he reminds me of Super Shredder from TMNT. I love how perfectly his shadow mechanics and Death Mark fit into that shadow ninja archetype. Now I own all of his skins, and even after all this time I'm still learning about tricks to play him well, and about his lore.

Yasuo almost entirely because of how comic book/manga-esque the Last Breath animation is. Plus his story is so wide open, and there are a ton of great theories in the community.

Also, shout out to Captain Volibear. There is nothing more fun than popping your Q, popping Ghost, and flipping someone, who was halfway across the map from you two seconds ago, to their imminent demise as you smack and bite them to death. Good times.

KogMaw This champion is the most adorable champion in the game. Hands down. It's like having your adorable little digital puppy that you train and wreck havoc with late game. Especially if you spam ctrl 1 taunt throughout the whole game. Charge! :P

On a sidenote though, I'm really disappointed with the current state of this champion and the condition of the last two patches he's been in. Really Riot, the reason he was capable of doing so well to begin with was because Triforce gave him HP, you received HP in your masteries, he actually did 'decent' mixed damage when he pressed his W, and he had been slightly more mobile than he currently is with the 5 additional movespeed, slightly tankier stats and a skill that didn't lock him down. From a diehard Kog main, please take this into consideration if you see it. He needs stat buffs in addition to an AD buff. Just my opinion. He's in an awful place right now. #SaveTheVoidPuppy

My absolute favorite champion has got to be Azir . Coming from previously playing Starcraft (even though I was really young and bad at it) Azir just seemed to grip me the moment he was announced. He's essentially the closest League is going to get to "manage an army" and I absolutely love it. The actual character and personality of Azir is also really cool too.

When they released the long-form lores for Azir and Xerath I immediately went to save IP and purchase him. He's the only champion in which I enjoy both the character and their gameplay. I may have fed for like 20 games straight immediately upon unlocking him, but I'd say that's totally worth.

Vladimir has been my favourite and main since I started, thanks to a recommendation from a friend.

Viktor Swain Sion Gangplank (both pre and post rework) Trundle have been long time pleasures, both lore and gameplay wise.

Ekko MasterYi TwistedFate

Ekko Was the second champion released from when I started playing, because I started a little before Bard came out, and was a little unimpressed (Mostly because I never touched support). Then this guy was announced and I fell in love. He had a rad lore to him, and I saw his kit and just knew I was gonna love him. Easy favorite, mostly play him mid.

MasterYi Is someone whom I got a mystery skin for, then started playing because of it. Got Head Hunter (Best skin at the time) and decided to play him lots and enjoyed him thouroughly. Got him to level 4 in about 2 weeks, and then PROJECT was announced so I spammed him to level 5 and insta-bought the skin when it came out. Still my favorite skin along with PROJECT: Zed.

TwistedFate I've actually only recently picked up, but within about a week of play I've gotten him to level 4 and just love him. I like his character a lot but his playstyle is just so fun. I always go with an attack-speed build when I'm using him, because I find it more fun than stuncard > Q, plus his auto animations are just so satisfying to look at that I love having them 2.5 times a second.

TraderDerp11/24/2015, 2:36:26 PM2 votes

Darius top I like the lane-bully play style. I like being in the middle of a fight. I love the juggernaut fantasy; hilariously tanks with loads of damage, in exchange for low mobility.

Also, dunking scrubs is fun :)

Amumu rylai's is fun on this champ Ezreal skillshots make you feel better at this game. Mordekaiser before the rework, the goal was to be able to 1v3 and yell stuff like "im fucking mordekaiser" Shaco I like playing mind games with people, and ap shaco basically has a walking time bomb. Teemo I like mind games, nothing like messing with your opponent Viktor laserbeam of death

I like any champ that I feel has to out-think the enemy rather than just have better twitch-reflex mechanical skill or that has to just farm up into a bigger pile of stats than the enemy and faceroll.

Lux is and forever will be, mai waifu. Love everything about her. Her abilities, her upbeat personality, her "I'm about to have a psychotic breakdown" laugh, and her long-range playstyle. She's all skillshots so I never feel like anything I wasn't earned by skill and good aim, but she's more about planning and positioning than twitchy mechanics. Probably helps that I live on the east coast and had gross ping for a long time.

I also like that Lux feels BALANCED. Good damage, godly range, terrible durability, and no mobility. She has very defined strengths and weaknesses. It's how I'd design champions if I was given the chance.

I also enjoy Pantheon when I really want to dominate a game. He feels more strategic than the average faceroll bruiser... since he has to poke you down and pick his time to engage rather than just going ham at the earliest opportunity. I like that he can affect lanes easier than most with his ult and I actually LIKE that he tends to fall off come late game. Again with that silly "champ balance" thing. If I don't get ahead... I'm gonna have a bad time. That's the price I pay for being terrifying early on. He seems fair to me and I like that! Could use a VO on his non dragonslayer skins tho and a slick new VO.

I like Shaco for teh trololols, the early jungle invades, the mindgames and the fact that he's a freaking insane clown! Am I in the bush by your red buff? Am I ganking bot? Is that me, or the clone? A good shaco game makes you feel like someone's worst nightmare... and it's because YOU knew where to be and what to do.

And... hate me all you want but I like Teemo . I'll be honest, this one I wasn't 100% on until he got Omega Squad Teemo... which is so darkly awesome that I immediately mained the little monster. I get a chuckle every time I kill someone via ambush or shroom trap and then walk off into the sunset while Teemo states "I don't feel anything...". Chills. But seriously... traps. No other champ really makes use of traps much. Teemo can't fight you 1v1. He can't mash his face on the keys and win. Heck, he can't teamfight worth a crap, really... and he dies FAST. But if you play him SMART... he's infuriating enough that the playerbase has decided he is the dark lord himself.

A lot of the newer, faceroll champs with their huge piles of passives and multi-use over-complicated abilities don't do it for me. I never feel like I got beat by those guys... I just feel like they had more to work with. An answer for every situation. Tons of free stats and game-breaking powers on top of already strong kits. Yasuo already has an infinitely spammable dash and a free shield that he gets FOR spamming his dash... does he really need windwall as well? That's not even mentioning the free crit and armor pen. Tahm gets a button to cockblock any attempt to kill one of his teammates... ok he's a support, that's fine. Does it need to ALSO be a huge nuke that can destroy an enemy too? Does he need to add his health to his damage, so he hurts like hell while being tanky? Does he need hideous sustain from his grey health regen AND the ability to press one button to get it as a shield too? That like... doubles his already high health!

Balls of stats and overloaded kits aren't fun for me. Give me a champ who does something and does it well, and I'll accept that they lack in some other department. Lately champs seems to have fewer and fewer weak spots, or just have skills that do everything possible to prevent their weaknesses from mattering. It makes them VERY binary too. Yasuo against a skillshot-based mage mid? He'll completely ruin the game for them. Yasuo against Annie or Malzahar? Yasuo is probably going to feed. Games should be about PLAYING around your champion's weaknesses not about if you picked the proper champ to auto-win lane against your enemy or not.

Aatrox

God I love this champion, not super viable right now but if you're good enough at him and you win top lane, he becomes a monster, and in that time is incredibly fun to play. He's what keeps me into league, what with all these ridiculous patches coming out. cough item 3033 cough

Braum When i support this is my big bad boss that i play, Braum is the reason i became a support main in my trek out of bronze. Braum's CC his taunts jokes and everything make him still one of my favorite.

LeeSin And Lee is the reason i left the support role, At the end of season 5 ranked I've slowly lost interest in the support role and have recently been playing jungle games as a way to make it more interesting. I've had my share of dragon steals and am still finding new ways to build and learn Lee. overall one of my favorites and one i hope to play through season 6 ranked

[slayer-jinx-wink] Overall i'm a Jg/top/supp main in that order and love all these positions in the new season

NichtHurz11/24/2015, 9:41:31 PM2 votes

Shaco "Look behind you!"

I just love how you can set up mindgames, trick your enemies and how flexible you can build this guy. He's one of the few champs who can actually utilize a huge chunk of the available items and he feels quite balanced since he has obvious weaknesses and counterplay, but still has a chance to play around this. :)
