Is this preseason already??
I made it to b2 and have 0 lp. I lost 2 games in a row on 0 lp and haven't got demoted. Not complaining but just curious because it seemed a little fishy.

Deep Terror Nami2 votesWhen you get promoted to a new division, you get 3 games of demotion protection. For a new Tier it's 10.
You also have some protection for having high MMR, but there're no specifics to share on that.
Sukishoo1 votesNo. Pre-season is AFTER the 11th, and you can still be demoted in pre-season there's just no decay for plat and above in the case of if they stop playing ranked it won't effect the rank they are at (where as Gold-Bronze already has no decay).

Oh it was a little weird that i haven't been demoted yet though. I thought i would get demoted after the second game on 0 lp.

It moves independent of your Rank. It's what is used to match you with other players. Each division has an average range of MMR, and if your MMR is higher than where you rank then you'll get more/lose less LP to rank up to the correct spot easier. The opposite is also true.
